I liked the Sword Elites with their "Wort wort wort, wort wort wort".

I got "sliec sliec sliec"ed by three Zealots with Swords at once. XD

I love this level! The night time battles, the obnoxiously vertical nature of the hangar battle, and being able to use the sniper rifle down loooooooong hallways, what more can you ask for in an early level!

I blame stosh.

Proud tester of the Halo 3 beta.

I think it was really cool!

"its not the years, its the mileage"

I will confess that I found this the most difficult level to complete on legendary; particularly when you come up the grav lift and find yourself fending off two or three gold Elites with plasma swords all at once.

However, this is one of my favorite levels and I enjoy the challenge.

I have yet to see anyone else recommend my course of action in dealing with the sword elites at the beginning of "belly of the beast". The first chance you get to go up into the doored and connecting tunnels, TAKE IT. You have a much better chance of surviving without taking even a close shave from the elites if you use the tunnels as cover and a way to put distance between your MC butt and their charging maniacal behavior. You can toast them with just a PPistol when you can keep backing up, without even having to use an overcharge. Your marines never survive to the hunters anyway, so do not feel guilty about abandoning them, they do have guns after all! It is a rare day when I find myself getting pasted by anything but a hunter these days ( I melee those, it is alot of fun with bare fist!).

Well Enough Alone...

~"The people who play Bungie games tend to sense that there's something behind the games that's attractive to them. Then they become fans of the games. And then they become rabid fans. And then they become employees of Bungie."(Life story) -Marty

I think T&R is the best Halo level (of all 3 games) (no matter what difficulty), if only for "Under Cover of Night" music and the Night part. Love that. (and the howling elites still FREAK ME OUT!!)

In early shot myself trying to beat that. Great level though.

I hate it when Keyes shoots a Needler into a dead Grunt and explodes killing him in the progress.

Similar working strategy; it's a kind of waiting game (the Grunts and co seem variable on when/which doors they come out. But I do my best to take the cammoed guys out with the AR, stick some Zealots, then grab the Active Cammo and head to one of the aforementioned side hallways.
Much easier to take on an individual Zealot with a needler/couple o' grenades.

The main reason I am not a fan of close quarter needling with a charging foe is the one time I had gone from PofA thru the belly of the beast without dying once (on Legendary) and then died the first time I tried to needle a charging zealot. It kind of soured me on needlers. I do much prefer the CE needler to the H2 needler though. The one saving grace of the H2 needler is with sputnik on, and double wielded, it is alot of fun to send covies flying darn near a mile with enough needles!

I also use do play where the only way I would allow myself to take out a zealot was with a plasma grenade. I figured if they always dropped two when they were toast, why shouldn't I return the favor by at least giving them one first!

Good god. That is one hell of a slog when playing on legendary. Must take about 1-2hours to complete. Hardest parts: The waves that come down from the grav lift, Into the belly of the beast, the whole hangar room section. The whole damn mission is hard. It's the worst mission to play through. But playing on legendary adds that challenge that makes it fun.

I actually hated this level on Legendary, compared to other levels, even the level Keyes is not as hard as Truth and Reconciliation on legendary.

The worst parts in the game are fighting wave after wave of random covenant groups at the teleporter. And of course, the Hangar area. Strangely, I find zealots easier to kill than the Stealth elites. (The marines cannot see a stealthed unit, even if its right in front of them, laughing at their faces)

For some reason, thinking of this level reminds me of the Level, gravemind on legendary on in halo 2, (shudders) it seems the master chief always comes close to actually dieing for good, whenever infiltrating any sort of Covenant Base/Ship, thank goodness for Cortana.

Make Halo 1 online
Carlos Mencia is Terrible
& kids who use default settings are terrible

this was one of the best levels on legendary because of the challenge. i also loved the glitch (i dpnt know how it works) where you could get up to ten marines fighting with you before you get pulled up into the covie ship. its at that section with the invis right before the lift into the ship. i think what happens is you pick up the invis so and run towards the grav lift area so your marines wont follow you (because your invis). then the game realizes you have no support and cortana calls for reinforcements (five more marines).once the invis runs out your original group comes into the grav lift area and you got up to ten marines fighting hordes of covies coming down from truth. anyone ever get that?

I didn't think it was particularly hard. I saved my sniper ammo when I was on the ground and then once I was inside the elites no longer posed a threat. Legendary was difficult when I first got it but I did it about 2 months ago and it was surprisngly easy.

Halo 1=win on all fronts. I gotta say, Silent cartographer's bech battle is badass, and AotCR has great moments.

Marty told me I could kiss my life goodbye ;) But it was so satisfying finishing the grav lift room encounter.

The large battle below the T&R wasn't really that bad for me. I sniped really well, and timed the Grenades really well. Plus, my combat is usually better in open spaces like that.

But it was ridiculous how they just kept coming, and kept coming, and kept coming, and just when you think you're all done, there was more. And then some.

I like my Covenant like i like my woman, screamin and with a sticky on there face.

one of my favorite halo levels especially on legendary. Most annoying part of the level as to be the hanger tho because they come from all directions and there isnt too good cover but otherwise its the first lvl me and friend boot up when playing co-op

lol to the guy above me

It's tough, but I'm not going to complain because I still haven't beaten the Library on Legendary to this day...
