my dad was playing Halo the other day and he joined a server playing Death Island. I looked over from a recent death in Halo 2 and the texturing was messed up. I dont know where it came from but it wasn't like that earlier in the day. I just updated my graphics driver(Im running a 9600 XT), I also just updated my BIOS and reinstalled halo and it still is messed up.
here is a link to some screenshots I just took, if anyone can help that would be great.

Oh yea, i also have no other problems like this on any other games on my PC.

strange.. almost like you accidentally stumbled upon the 3d wire models of the map. i've noticed with my GeForce FX 5700 LE that particle effects are F'ed up, and the only thing that fixes the problem is downgrading the graphics drivers. try doing that with your card. the only thing i don't like about that is when i downgrade the drivers, Halo CE doesn't even run. so i just gotta live with the problem (until they hopefully come out with version 1.07 which will fix the prob)

Heyyo,

Do you have developper mode activated? and exactly what version of the ati catalyst drivers you running? and are they set to default settings?

I use catalyst v5.12 and they work great. Catalyst v4.5 are also good. I suggest leaving the settings on default since that was the original way they were designed to run.

no I dont have Devmode on, the drivers i have are "6.14" I just set them to default and no change.
I was playing PC earlier in the day, went to CE, back to PC and then quit. about 30 min. later my dad came on and it was all messed up.
ill roll back my drivers now to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks alot guys. I uninstalled my drivers then reistalled them and it works just fine now. actually faster. i went from 35 FPS (as you can see in the screenshots) to 70 FPS. If i didnt post this i would still be trying to figure out how to fix this.
Thanks again.

now i had the same problem too mate, parents say'i never used to spend all my time playing on the xbox pc watevr' and i say it wasnt invented ass.
so wat u have to do, is save up for ages(like me) and get ur own pc(like me) and network it cheaply but well(like me)
my specs are:
amd athalon 64 3200
powercolor radeon 9550
gigabyte nforce 3 k8ns
160gb sata hard drive
sony dvd rom
nice lil case from ebuyer(icute)

all for under £500 and works like a dream
my family spend loads of money on software only to find i have either a cracked or copied editon.
ask ur dad for money and say u wana build it urself bcos its wat ur into
then set it upo in ur room and leave the other ones in the studdy or wereevr.
now u can play for ages without them interfering
i have 512 broad band and 3 pcs share it in the house, but a few downloads mean that when i play games i can limit their bandwidth and also shut down their pcs using mine in my room :)

Wow you're an evil little boy.... Anyway, I'm building my own "Kick Ass machine" but I'm still gathering parts. Here are some parts that I am getting:
AMD 64 3200
1024 MB of PC-3200 RAM
Gigabyte X850 XT vid card
and a 250 GB hard drive. There are other parts but I don't remember what the exact names of the parts are.

Right now the main PC is in my room. and my dad only uses it to play Halo, he uses his labtop for the internet. I cant wait until I build my own machine. But the PC I have now works just fine, just one more upgrade and it will be great. (to me at least)
I have a Pavillion a320n.
AMD Athlon 2800
512 MB PC-2700 RAM
120GB hard drive
it came installed with a Nvidia GeForce 4 MX 64MB on the mother board. It sucked. I was able to play Halo(barely) and Unreal 2K4. I just upgraded about a month ago to a Radeon 9600 XT.
The only thing I want to upgrade is the RAM, which I was able to almost talk my dad into buying the other day.

Well the most advanced thing I've ever put together was one of those zoid model things for my neighbor. It was one of those huge ones by the way. Do you think that I could still put together a computer?

Yes. To give you an idea, I had never built a computer before about half a year ago. It took me about 1 and a half hours to build one with very little knowlesdge of them. The hardest part is mounting the CPU cooling, as screwing that up means overheated cpu all the time. Basically, everything else is easy. Just slide it in, connect some power cables, etc.

I RECOMMEN newegg.com for cheap parts. It has a lot of cheap parts (I could've made a kickass comp for about $600 american. Also, half of the reviews you see on products always have a little bit that says, "oh yeah, and shipping came in two days, NEWEGG IS AWESOME". My friend made his computer with everything from newegg and he says it rocks.

I was looking at Newegg.com before, they do have some really cheap prices.
As for building a PC I built one in a class before and the the hardest thing was setting the slave and master cables right.
for alot of the reviews i read i just go to http://www.guru3d.com/
