So I've been using an Xbox 360 controller (wireless) with Halo PC. Everything works great in singleplayer, it plays exactly like it did on the xbox, however the moment I go into multiplayer the left stick stops acting like an analog stick and feels like it's emulating WASD controls, so it only gives me eight-way directional movement, and I can't control my speed. It works absolutely fine in singleplayer, so can anyone tell me how I can get the same functionality in multiplayer?

Edit: I should add that a friend using a controller is experiencing the same thing.

Also, I don't get a message when I kill someone or get killed (you killed X, X killed you, etc.), however, it does tell me when I get a double kill or killing spree, anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance. :)

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Gearbox made controller work thay way. I'm not sure why. No idea how to fix your lack of text messages.

I GOT PEOPLE ON MY SIDE

Try increasing the resolution to fix the lack of text, when it is 640x480, on the it cuts off like an inch from the side.

Or run msxmlenu.

Thanks, that fixed my lack of text. :) I'm still mystified as to why the controller input would work different in multiplayer from how it works in singleplayer though.

My guess is that Gearbox made the analog stick act like WASD due to the bad netcode in multiplayer. Think of the lag you have now, and imagine if you had to lead players moving only at half-speed, or even quarter-speed.

The analog movement would exaggerate the lag IMO.

That would also explain why gametypes where people gain speed for deaths and lose it for kills are so hard to hit too.
