yeah 36 rounds is fine. for one thing , the BR is a higher caliber weapon, more accurate scoped weapon. It took down grunts in 1 or 2 shots in the E3 Demo, and can even punch through jackal shields. This is a vast improvement over the AR, which i found to be almost useless in legendary mode. I just hope the MC will be able to carry sufficient ammo. Using the 600 round ammo capacity for the AR, I'm gussing you be able to pack 300- 400 rounds into your bandolier.

That's what they showed you, but if you go to kikizo.com, you can see the original in game demo and it takes alteast 3 shots to kill a grunt with the BR, then they changed the demo to show the public (being us) exactly what they wanted us to see. They did the same thing with the Zanzibat demonstration (you can get it on the same site) where they show you the spartans legs and the zoom feature, as well as saying that once you open t he main gate, iat will stay open for the rest of the 3 minute ctf period.

In the e3 2003 demo i ocunted 54 shots after he reloaded so they must have had it at 60 like the old AR then changed it to 36 somewhere along the lines. If you think about it, 36 is three times as much as the pistol. Even though the battle rifle may not be as powerful as the pistol you can now send out more rounds and kill the enemy in realitivly the same eaise.

www.gametrailers.com
www.kikizo.com
www.thatweasel.tv/hbo_mirror.php (This site has extremley slow load times 1 kilobyte per second for 2+meg files so try not to use it unless you have a very good connection or a fast computer)

They don't show you reloading in that one, but if you look at the unofficial video, the MC reloads after the bomb strike and he gets off the gatling gun.

I think you can find it at
www.kikizo.com or at
www.gametrailers.com

You do know that it only punched through the shield because the Bungie employye playing was in god mode right? They made it like that for the demo so that the guy didn't look like an idiot for not being able to kill a Jackal. Meaning in the actual Halo 2 game, the Jackal shields will still be nearly impervious as ever.

Also the MA5B is great on Legendary mode, you just have no real idea on how to use the thing.

If the Jackal sheilds can't shatter in Halo 2 that's going to be kind of stupid, besides I thought it was almost for certain that they're going to able to now

As far as the BR gose it's got the best of both world's. I found the pistol was usless for anything besides head shot's and killing jackals. Which I usualy took out with my MA5B by pounding on his sheild from medium range and wating for him to room. Then unloading 4-5 round burst to stop him from getting his sheild up.
The MA5B I found was great for crowwd control and sending grunts running in every direction. Once the elite was dead.

For all we know (depending on the cycle time on the burst fire) It might be so bloody close to auto you might as well have a fully automatic weapon.
*note I haven't seen the vids since my comp can't run them.

I have been wondering that for the longest time, even though it might seem kind of crazy, I want to know what happens if you just hold the R trigger in until the magazine empties. In all of the videos I have seen everyone either uses the zoom feature on it and that's it or very rarely fires like one three shot burst.

I remember reading some article about the Jackal shields and other things from that year's E3. You can't break through the Jackal's shields with any bullet type weapons. It will remain as reflective of projectiles as in Halo 1. Which is a good thing.
