Well I am a veteran sniper and so is my buddy here is what we do we when we snipe and kill our enemies we move into a new location because a smart sniper usually moves to new places so that it will keep teh enemy guessing where you are... If you are located leave the area where you are now so that the enemy will lose you for a while or until they die... But you don't always have to listen to me but that is how I wasted the opposing 16 players including their easy staying in one spot snipers that don't move ever... But to play with expert snipers with outstanding skills is good... Anther way I train my friends at sniping is be in the passenger seat of a a warthog and practicing hitting moving targets, as they improve I have the target fire apon them I do this until my friend is an expert at sniping moving targets... But listen to other ideas they help

I do 4 players with some friend on one xbox, and my brother is probably a super ab normal, if he fires a shot someone is dead, even when i watch his screen and he doesn't have it out he brings it out and zooms in on me and i often don't know what happened. lol

A good way to work on sniping is to play Truth & Reconciliation on Legendary.... alot.

Yeah! That's how I trained. I find it best to play on Heroic, actually, because then you can still kill Elites with one head shot, which is more like multiplayer.

Also, there's lots of sniper ammo in that level, so you should try to use the sniper rifle exclusively. Even in up close combat, because if you can master that long range shots will come faster and easier. Also don't put your look sensitivity too far up, otherwise you'll over-aim.

If you want to get really good. (this is stupid since so many other people posted before me...)

1. Never stay in one spot. Fire to kill a few targets then move. That is the most important. (because online you'll probably have another sniper looking for you)

2. Headshots are fun, but neck shots are more skillful. If you want to gain alot of skills, shoot the neck.

3. Find a place with cover. This is also very important. Never sniper from an open space. if you do, prepare to be picked off by other snipers and/or people who use pistols.

just get a pistol die then shoot it far away while starfing and when it spins i when you hit it then once you get that try to fight better snipers

The way to best train is like they said before, go aginst another sniper. Practice getting into position and waiting for the right shot. Shooting isn't the only part about being a sniper. I have a friend who is just phenominal at sniping and his secret is grabbing the rifle early in the game and then running somewhere and hiding during a melee somewhere on the map and then waiting in the same spot until the perfect shot comes along and then he takes it. He doesn't waste a whole clip though, he takes one4 sometimes two shots and then moves regardless of whether he hit the person or not, plus he tries to hit the person when they're destracted so they don't see where the bullet comes from. Oh and one more tip, when you get near your sniping spot, crouch and run teh rest of the way there. You don't show up on radar if you crouch and stay crouched when you're in or near your spot because that way no one has any idea where you go unless they see you or you tell them (why you would I don't know) and you can use that same spot a couple of times.

everyone here has basically told you the main points. heres a tip for you to remenber. when playing other snipers on the net dont forget where you are. this may sound dumb but what is a good sniping spot to you is also a good sniping spot for them, make sure every once in a while to turn off your scope and make sure no other snipers are crawling your way....the last thing you want is to be searching for your very well hidden enemy then find out that they've just hit you around the back of the head!

and of course....always have a back entrance for escape.....there are some good positions in maps that are also death traps for snipers!

Speaking of which i need to practise my sniping also, its become quite cruddy lately and needs to be put back into shape.

Hah! yeah I've been playing against my feet every now and then!

I havent noticed anyone else saying this, so I'll give my pointers:

Obviously, you want to keep moving; but when you're aiming at someone, yes, keep moving. Alot of people stop in their tracks and aim (then fire) only to be sniped by someone else off in some random location.

Its usually bettter (for me anyway) not to aim with the right thumbstick, but to aim with the left (movement) thumbstick, because you can easily over aim and miss someone by moving the looking thumbstick too far, but if you're body moves with your target, you'll be that much sharper.

What I love to do (especially in sidewinder) is once I get the sniper rifle, I treck along the outside edges of the map keeping the scope zoomed at 2x and constantly fanning the field for any movement. That way I can notice who's who, where they're goign and if I should kill them or not (threat level basically) I just love it when I see an enemy grab my flag and walk out of the base, only to be sniped because I was tracking them the whole time. I hardly use 10x zoom unless I need to make a really precise shot (the target hasnt noticed me, he's really far, etc) since 2 shots will kill anyone, you can easily follow someone at 2x, then zoom in for the head shot afterwards.

Oh, and obviously, if you're far away and the targets moving, keep a lead on them. Its usually not much: when the target is just outside of the circle reticle, thats a good point to fire.

Hope that helps

many a times i have sniped my friends from high speed vehicles only to be called a cheater...........this bothers me i say your head is in my way i'm going to take it out of my way........................one thing i like to do (concidering my friends suck at sniping) is stand in the open move aroun in a unorthodox fasion and wait till a shot is fired then still moving turn to shoot them..............but as long as i've been playing i have been using the techniques everyone has already posted execpt heres one when playing against a sniper .......never jump they always know where your going to land

What I did is I played Truth and Reconcialliation alot and used only a sniper rifle and would reload checkpoints if I took more than two shots to kill a enemy. Also I would stay up to 3 in the morning using my right hand to aim and my left to move a the other character now I have gotten to the point where I can shoot people out of Ghosts. However no matter how good a shot you are superior tactics are much better and you can get good at tatics by playing alot against humans (preferably not on split screen) I did this by having regular Sniper tournaments on Wolfenstein and I eventually got in the top 500 using mainly a SR. Patience is of utmost importance dont take the first shot you can get go for the kill shot *head shot* and remember human oppenents will look for your patterns and try to counter so never go to the same spot to often.

If anyone wants to learn on how "not" to be a camper (everyone hates campers dont they?) when sniping, I may have a solution:

set up a game on sidewinder, no shields, low health, sniper weapons only, with invisible players and only one life each, with the kill limit set to 10.
Since sidewinder has a ton of camper spots (and any veteran knows every one of them) It'll help teach non-vets to keep moving and keep looking around. I've done this a few times with some friends who dont have an xbox for a while. At first they would always be in the usual spots whatching for someone to shoot and be visible. Then I'd come up and either head shot them up close, or just smack them. It adds alot of stress to the game, but it helps players remember how dangerous camping is
