i think they are meant to be something similar to exhausts. though they are pointing at the oppostie side of halo. they're bizarre.

Notice what is hitting the POA as it's going down.

yeah, but if u watch the shots they aren;t fast enough to hit the Poa so accurately. i dont think 1 missed. and they hit lifeboats to, thats extrememly accurate

I've just noticed that, I was just playing level 2 a minute ago.

I thought they were beacons that mark specific lengths of Halo. Like every eigth as you go round has a beacon.

Obviously this isn't the case as 4 are clustered close to each other throughout the level. Also, if this theory was correct , then we'd probably see them in other parts of the game.

* I wouldn't say they were exhaust vents because who would want to waste that kind of energy?

* I wouldn't say that the beams firing out of Halo hit The Pillar of Autumn. Although they look similar the Halo beams are really slow and large, while the beams hitting the PoA are small, almost laser fast beams.

Does anyone know what they are?

It didn't seem as though the POA was going straight through the middle of the ring world. Remember that the Covenant weapons are based on Forerunner technology.

I think that they are Halo's weapon. if all of those beacons all shot at once, the blasts from each one would meet together in the center of halo and cause a massive explosion.

possible. I think they're pulse signals that fire into the rooms that you have to go in on two betrayals. If I remember right, there are three stations in halo you have to fight around, and three stations in two betrayals you have to disrupt. I'd say when/if halo was activated, the three stations charge up and fire a powerful blast simultaniously into each of their respective stations, allowing the main weapon to power up and fire.

They're probably there to provide the centripetal force.

They are Halo's weapon. As for the bolts hitting the Pillar of Autumn, those were plasma barrages from the covenant ships.
