I've been under the lake and I never noticed a "trigate". I have also gotten out of the map and walked all the way around it and I never saw a gate.

Why are you here?

It is not really a gate, but a different color textile on the wall that is shaped like a big triangle.

RTH - It's nothing to get excited about. The other poster was right, they're triangular pieces of map texture and they do nothing. The GATE is just the placeholder switch for the Gondola.

ARBITER, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER!!! WORT WORT WORT.

If you're referring to the hunt for TUE, the ultimate egg, OP, the "trigate" isn't anything more than texture.

As for the thread, our search for TUE. It was deleted one silent night when a mod's account was hacked. The search never really came back.. we tried to start new threads about it but the mods were locking them down and blacklisting us for it. We eventually banded into a 25 man group and pretty much no progress has been made now that we don't have the pressure or the spine of the Halo 2 community behind us.

TUE's existence is neither confirmed nor denied by Bungie. Given all of the evidence lingering around out there, I'd say there's at least a 70% chance it's there somewhere. Nothing was proven.

A problem that may have come into play, I never had the time to find out, is that things were changed as updates and map packs were handed out, as in changes in skull effects. If a piece of the coding was changed that was needed for activating or finding TUE, then it didn't happen by everybody from HIH and here because everybody had the mappacks at the least. The problem regarding me, is that I never did get any of that, so my findings from the other egg hunters were different, like on the Black Eye skull. For me, every time I pick it up, it's a switch, it either turns off the snow or on. With the first update, I noticed that picking up the skull isn't acting like a switch anymore... it's random. Why the change? I have no idea. But that may have been enough to cause a bigger problem for the search.

Having found that, I erased all of the game content on my xbox and started over, re-creating skull profiles between full time college and full time work. I haven't done much since I made enough profiles to get me by. I don't know what else was changed... but I prefer to think of it as I'm the only hope for finding TUE.

TUE is the name we chose for what we sought, a missing egg. It stands for The Ultimate Egg. We found more evidence in favor of it existing than we found disproving it. It was believed that there was a very complex egg, somewhere in the game, "not on the level of a skull". Most of us took that last piece and thought it would be something less. I personally expected something much more grand and complex. Maybe a speed rush through the whole game SLASO (Solo Legendary All Skulls On). Defeat the game nonstop with all skulls on and on legendary is really hard at Cairo Station and I don't know that it's been done nonstop in one day. It would take a looong time unless you came up with a strategy for it that worked.

Anyhow, Bungie never confirmed if it existed. It was also said that the Megg egg wasn't the best hidden egg, and I think that implies there's better hidden eggs unfound in the game.

There's supposedly a missing IOHBOY or two and that's it... which I have a hard time believing.

Perhaps what you might be looking for is something involving the gate and the skulls. All the skulls have a number on the back of them. If you find all the thirteen skulls in a certain order, then activate the Delta Halo gate switch, something is supposed to to happen. It could be th Ultimate Egg you're suggesting.(?)

Well Enough Alone...

lol I would love to be the guy who applied textures to the level and forgot one triangle. I would sit back and laugh. And whoever scripted that gate in before the gondela that it activates arrives, same. You'd think that people would have torn apart halo 2 vista and descovered any hidden eggs.

They are gust glitches. If they were eggs, you'd know. You always know with bungie eggs.

Well not every secret lies in the programming on the surface dude. There wasn't an active_camo_cheat_off hex line, so it was on a whim, just chance, that the perma camo was found.

As for the triangles... yeah whatever. You're trying to herd cats on that one. Cats with buttertoasted backs falling that is.

As for the numbers on the skulls, HIH went ape over that and tried to do something with it. Nothing became of it.
