You all sound like your good at sniping and I was wondering if you could all give me some tips, especially Hikaru 119. the only guns I'm effective with all the guns but I prefer the pistol and longer range weapons. Anything you'd think would help. By the way I don't like sidewinder so the only big map I play is BG. I prefer red they have some wicked sniping spots, my favorite high on the wall in the shadows overlooking blue base.

Also General Fox I went to your snipers anonomous site it's pretty cool! ^.^

Yeah, I'm by far the best Halo player.....in my area. I thought I was better than everyone ever, and then I played on xbc for the first time. I remember it like it was yesterday, man that was one rude awakening. I can't wait for some laggless Live play.

Well here is a great way to get good at sniping. Practice, practice, practice.

Hit smaller targets, get your reaction speed up, and play lots of Legendary mode. That is a good start for stuff. Also learn to observe a battlefield, not just remember or assume that something is there, actually get into it and feel it. Yes it is possible to do that in a game.

Find newer hiding spots or old ones people never use or think about. Hide in the tunnels or actually hide in the bushes. People never check those. Pistol sniping and such can be done greatly from a bush. No one ever sees you. heck Ive told people my strategies and they still don't get it.

Also learn to shoot on the move. Being a sitting duck is a mistake that kills many snipers. Shoot and after about 4 kills move to a new spot so that you are not found. Also learn to be patient. Don't always engage when the enemy is right in front of you. Wait for them to pass unknowingly and then shot them in the back. It is an unfair practice but it works.

As already mentioned stealth is key. If there are motion trackers, and you are hiding, don't move when someone shows up on yours. If you can see them, they can see you. Wait for people to pass sometimes and run behind their backs grabbing ammo or a new hiding spot.

Also love your weapons. Trust them and you'll come out on top. My last suggestion is do campaign mode, mostly Keyes and Assault on the Control Room where you get the sniper rifle. Find really long range shots and use the Covenant for target practice. Also for improving headshot accuracy shoot the infestation Flood forms at long distance if possible. That is at least what I use them for. Aim small, miss small.

Well that's all I have right now for starters. Good luck.

First off, thanks for the complement to my site =]. I've worked pretty hard to do it all by myself and there's only room for improvements =]...

Secondly, I could give you tips... But I think you probably know most of them off my site... The most important think about timing is probably your reaction speed to hitting the fire button when you got a shot on someone... Exp. if you snipe the way I do... Timing is everything!

I'm okay a sniping it's not my specialty, I mainly speciallize in shock trooperage. I'm not quite the best in my area but I'm pretty good. One of my most memorable kills was on GST on the Gulch CTF, I stormed Blue's base, BTW we weren't hosting so we couldn't snipe, I took the flag and portalled it. All of their snipers were generally at our base. So I emerged from the portal, and see the sniper on the large sniper path. Immediately *whack* the flag smashed into his side, quickly the bastard turned around and just started firing close range sniper, I jumped up and landed right before him, his earlier shots got me down to one hit-death *smash* the flag kills the poor bastard and I score the point.

Today my bro broke the trigger on one of my controllers so I offered a switch, all I could do was shoot grenades, well he won on CTF because I hid the vehicles earlier (in-level) and the kill counts were even, and he had all of the good weapons and all of the Ghosts.

My pride in being a shock trooper is seizing the enemy's base, I had the shotgun and sniper, my friend was camping this one guy, and he gave me the control, he's more of a sniper, so I killed the guy my friend was camping and then seized their base, this was CTF, so to add insult to injury I went in close range with the sniper and killed him, (I mean on top of his base) and wasted my ammo for it so I changed to shotgun and seized their fort.

If it takes you more than one shot, then your not a sniper.

The War will wage forever; though with it's fury comes a peace that you will never know here.

It takes me (usually) 2 shots to bring down an opponent. I tend not to waste time with trying to get head shots. However, if I CAN get a headshot, I take it.

In single player, however, I always aim for the head. I dont like nasty surprises, like jackals who survive a hit to the chest from a sniper round.

In multiplayer, people who weave are hard to hit. I admit that. I even miss on occasion. My prime weapon is the pistol, although I'm trying to make it something else for when Halo 2 comes out, so I wont be too used to 3 hit KOs.

I dont brag about how "awesome" I am. Most peopel that brag about how freakin awesome of snipers they are or how theyve NEVER been beatin are usually full of crap. The people i play with know that i can help out a team pretty well and the fact that i dont brag about it is respeceted.

On average I take 2 shots, but that's because it's better to hear them scream before they die, muwhahaha.

My basic strategy is take a sniper and pistol, work my way to mid-course and grab a rocket launcher, make my way to the other base while wasting sniper ammo on skulls, clean out the base with the rocket launcher, grab more sniper ammo and do it again.
