Most unbalanced weapon in the history of multiplayer games.
It's worse than the GOW shotgun.
Obviously this is an exaggeration, but it is pretty ridiculous.
The GOW shotgun was a total BS Cannon. I could never kill anyone with it, so, I lancered and chainsawed people. The BR should not be a default weapon because it would unbalance games to much. Thor thinks the AR sucks because he is not good at CQB and fell for the retarded BR is good AR is for noobs line. The guy who said BR for long range and AR for close range wins.GOW = God of War
Gears = Gears of War
I agree that the Gears2 Shotgun is somewhat of a "BS cannon", but Epic has improved the inconsistencies a little, so it's not as bad as it used to be. And, the Gears1 Shotgun was really considered "overpowered" because of rolling tactics and everything else lacking effectiveness against the weapon. But, in Gears2, it is different; the Lancer/Hammerburst and Pistols are all pretty useful.
And, why does it matter? Everyone starts out with the weapon. It's why people had no problem with the M6D Pistol; because they would start out with it. And, it's why people have no problem with the power of the BR in BR starts. To many, the BR is where it should be and everything else is unbalanced. This idea of the weapon being "overpowered" is what caused Bungie to design such a poor game with Halo 3 in the first place; it is why the weapons are mostly close-ranged effective, and the weapons that aren't close-ranged are considered"overpowered".
I, also, love that you make an assumption that he sucks at CQB. That's like saying he sucks with a Mauler because he dies more often than he does when using more ranged weapons. The closer fights are, the less probability that human error will determine the kill. When you decrease the human error aspect of video games, then you increase the chance that a :noob" can do good.
BTW, "BR for long range" is a laughable phrase. I would rather use the RF:G AR at long range.
