Let me start off by saying the BR is my favorite weapon. It's really not that hard to use if you practice with it. In my opinion the only reason people don't like it is because they don't know how to use it properly

I know how to use it. People keeps telling me it's really easy to use and that it can kill someone really quick. If it's so easy and fast to kill someone with a BR how is it not overpowered?

keep the BR, its your problem if you don't want to use it. personally, im not a serious gamer, so i just go with whatever anyone else wants. once i played random weapons, that was crazy. basically: keep the br, you shouldn't even have to dicuss about it, you MUST!

Overpowered is something all weapons should be in some way. A sniper is overpowered at long range, the rocket launcher and shotgun are overpowered in closed quarters. These are the basic power weapons. They all can kill in one shot and are difficult to counter in their ideal situations.

Weapons like the Battle Rifle and the Assault rifle are overpowered in that they both are can be used at a variety of ranges and combined for deadliness. The Battle Rifle works in medium to long range fights while the Assault Rifle works in short to medium range battles. Both of these weapons work great against power weapons when the battle does not take place in the power weapon's ideal range.

As far as balance goes, the Battle Rifle is pretty balanced on many of the maps. The problems with balance arise on more open maps like Valhalla, Sandtrap, Avalanche, ect. These maps cater more towards players wielding Battle Rifles since many battles take place in the medium to long range spectrum.

I believe that players should either spawn with both weapons in matchmaking, or there should be certain spawn weapons assigned to certain maps. For instance, Small, enclosed maps like Cold Storage should have Assault Rifle starts and open maps like Sandtrap should have Battle Rifle starts.

i don't get y people always complain about BRs. i hav never come across a problem with it. its a graet gun, and not just noobs use it sniper jesus. its probably becuz u can't use it. if u can't use it, there is one simple solution that evry1 has said before: DON'T USE IT

just wondering this may be a stupid question but i would really prefer if a bungie employee could answer this. Does the br spread or damage change between settings. I SWARE i can tell a difference for example i feel that my BR does a little bit more damage on default button layout setttings then on bumper jumper. Is this true for anyone else? and does it have to do with bumper jumpers leverage with the br (being able to jump and aim at the same time. Basically i think there is a bigger "hitbox" playing on default then on bumper jumper

Ok, just a quick reminder for everyone here. Halo was supposed to be a FPS that played well on consoles. When Halo 1 was made, the PC shooters dominated the market. Now of course PC shooters are better and well balanced compared to Halo1, 2, OR 3. But the fact of the matter is Halo is popular because it managed to dumb down the standard FPS and make it accessible for console kids. So to clear up some problems here;

1. There is no balance in Halo 3. If there was, any gun could beat any other gun with the determining factor being who is actually better at the game.

2. There was NEVER balance in any Halo game period, though I will say Halo 2 was as close to balanced as it got.

3. Fixing the BR and every other weapon for that matter, won't fix the horrible net coding that causes such randomness during gameplay. Bungie seeks to make a game for lulz. Not to give the nod to skilled kids. Whining about it doesn't help.

4. If you don't like Halo 3, there are PLENTY of alternatives. Quit being an rtard and find one.

5. FPS on console don't get much better than H3 to be honest. COD4 has so much aim assist that it will actually MAKE you miss. UT3 has hardly anyone playing it now and I don't blame them. That whole game is ruined by Epic's addition of auto-centering.

6. Halo will never be balanced. Bungie would have to COMPLETELY redesign every weapon in the game to do so. Games like Halo show exactly why you don't make guns for single-player without thinking about multi-player.

7. As for everyone that thinks they are good and the BR sucks. Congrats. You are good at a simplified console shooter that takes about as much skill as mowing around a bush.

8. FINALLY, as for the BR, every weapon is broken because they are not hitscan. Competitive shooters use hitscan. So there for Halo 3 is not a competitive shooter. I recommend a port to the Source engine. Then the real skill will come out.
