I believe very strongly, there should be two separate slayer gametypes. One for the assault rifles, and one for battle rifles.
Why? Because they produce two completely different styles of gameplay. The assault rifle creates variety in gameplay with players primarily throwing granades at long range, then shooting at medium to close range, then finishing by meleeing the enemy. On the other hand, the battle rifle, with it's 2x scope, creates a scenario where players don't need to use grenades at long range. Also, players shields are usually drained before coming within medium range, where the players with full shields will have the upper hand and will no longer need to melee, at least not nearly as much.
Now why these are not separate slayer gametypes, is beyond me, maybe bungie can answer that?!
Am I the only one always hesitant to play the multiplayer because I am forced to play a style of gameplay I do not wish to play in Halo 3?
In matchmaking where its messed up on BR's is when you get BR AND AR starts.
Also @ the grenades, they are used more frequently in BR matches than anything else, as after a grenade hit, it only takes 1-2 BR shots to finish them. Grenades are more of a finisher, or a tactic to chase someone down with when using the AR.
