I am he who walks above the abyss
upon a mountain of sky
I am he who descends to the blackest nights
to the ever-slumbering restless
I am he who releases his star
which will shine and burn
I am the abyss / I am the storm / I am the sky
I think that the BR is fun and all, but it takes a lot of the variety away from the game. I hardly use any other weapons because it is so much easier to get kills with a BR. And I hate the non-BR starts now because trying to fight off a BR user with anything else is like trying to blow up a tank with a sausage. It ain't gonna happen (most of the time, anyway).
And I seriously don't get the people who complain about the AR. My complaint is that it is underpowered. It is pretty much a useless weapon, especially if you spawn with a BR. If you don't it's just a weapon to have something to fight with until you get to a BR.
Anyone who dies from an assault rifle when using a BR deserves that death. Because if you died in that encounter, it's either because you weren't paying attention, you made a big mistake, or you just suck.
There's also a huge difference in the ability to kill someone with these two weapons. The BR, hitting with every shot and ending with a headshot, means you can get a maximum of 3 kills before reloading. If you're any good, you should get 2, and if you're not, you better get 1 or quit playing FPS games. With the AR, you have a maximum of 2 kills with one mag. That's if every bullet hits, which they certainly don't. That means it will take 2/3, 3/4, or a whole mag just to kill one person. You get one kill and then reload, one and reload. No escaping it unless you're really lucky (or use grenades, but in that case you can use the BR in the same way to increase your kills... hell you could get 12 kills on one mag if you had enough grenades lying around).
And just to let you know, the AR spread actually exceeds the aimer circle. Just find a place where you can see your shots hitting (forerunner metal walls usually work, like on guardian, or at least should work) and you'll see the little bright spots hit outside of that circle. Do it then watch it on theater to compare the spread of bullet holes on a wall between the BR and the AR. BR is the only gun that will hit anything with any real amount of damage.
I feel that replacing the BR with the DMR is going to turn Halo Reach into the best FPS ever made. Doing what they do with the AR should help, too.
