I was Sniping last night and the the guy on my team was host, i shoot a guy in the head with the sniper and my team mate called one shot, but the bulet did not hit him?

so on my screen it hit him

on my friends screen it him him

on the -blam!- dudes i shot scree n it hit him (I requested the film from him)

so why the -blam!- did it not count, i dont realy care about how the netcode is made, all i want is it to work, currently its trash

...

Someone told me to post this here...so here it is.

It's my Ode to the BR

Oh BR, oh BR, we love you so very much
We get so very excited at the first chance to touch.
Your absence in Combat Evolved was a loss,
But now you are here forever-unlike the Gauss.
In Halo 2 when you were first given to us
The players, without their beloved pistols, had a hard time with trust.
But given the time, you showed your power
We all realized that we should stop being sour.
You were given you tricks, I mean BXR of course
and ultimately became the most unstoppable force.
And now in Halo 3, skeptics claim your strength has died
But the loyal, the respectful, still use you with pride.
No matter the circumstances, you are still number one in my heart,
and you forever will be the weapon that always did its part.

Mr. Rumpleteezer

Amen brother. How can a game so riddled with problems be the "flagship" game for MLG besides they make tons of money from it because more kids than ever think they are pro because of the huge player base in halo 3.

So many competitive players are leaving halo 3 in search of something better. I myself have not found that something better besides waiting for 10 minutes to get a game in halo 2. So, alas I am FPS less until bungie fixes the greatest game that never was.

Please bungie..for gods sake gives us these options. I will love you forever! I promise. I will buy another copy of h3 just for you guys if you make these options a reality. Thanks.

You do realize that there really is no objective criteria for what makes a player "pro" or not, don't you?

And ign just reported that Halo 3 is actually the most played game on XBL...so that idea that people are leaving Halo is pretty much bunk - even if everybody who doesn't like the BR suddenly left tomorrow...there would still be hundreds of thousands playing matchmaking everynight - and compared to that population, the total membership of MLG (including the folks who are just fine with the BR) is a tiny, insignificant minority - no matter how vocal they've been on these forums.

Hey, though, it's totally cool with the rest of us if the game doesn't float your boat. But what I don't get is why you guys on these forums, trying to provoke the folks who do like this game. You know what I do when I don't like a game? I don't play it. I don't waste my time and everybody else's going on a fan site and starting fights.

Halo CE > Halo 3 > Halo 2

Fix the Halo 3 BR spread, plz.

The reason Halo 3 is the flagship title for MLG is not because it's a good competitive game, as it is not, but because it's a popular game that they can get somewhat competitive. It's strictly a business move. They haven't had a competitive flagship game since Halo CE.

Shadowrun is a great competitive game, but it died simply because it received horrible reviews from critics because it had no campaign so no one bought it.

I'm hoping GoW2's MP provides for a good casual experience and competitive experience, which looks like the case right now.

I said competitive, not pro. Thanks for reading.

Yeah, it's the most played game, but where is that population at? 300k people on and 5k in MLG. The competitive population is SMALL and it's getting smaller due to the small skill gap.

And yeah, you are right about us being insignificant. Why do you think we got so screwed over? Do you hate other minority populations because they are insignifcant because they dont' have big numbers? You racist.

The reason why we keep posting on these forums is because we love halo more than you ever could. And it hurts our soul that the greatest game series of all time was torn apart and made horrible for the sake of the majority. I keep coming on here hoping for that magic post. The one that says "This is bungie. We are sooo sorry for screwing you over so bad. HEre is the real halo 3." /cry

HAHAHHAHAHAHA

I really hope that was satire because if it was...it was awesome.

However, if you were being earnest, please let me know so I can laugh harder.

You're right, there are typically around 300k people on H3 during the "high times" and around 5k of those in the MLG playlist. Probably...because "competitive" gamers don't make up a huge portion of the population. And yet while they are dedicated, so are the countless other people that play Rocket Race, SBTB, Griffball, and Infection day in and day out. You said it yourself, the "competitive" community is very small so why exactly should they be catered to when they could be doing things for a much larger population?

I think that was Shakespeare's point. Bungie does tons of things I don't like in H3. I also realize that while I don't like it, others maybe do. So I tolerate what I don't like instead of trying to turn a game that 750K people play a day into *MY* version of H3.

Judging the size of the competitive community in Halo 3 by the population in the MLG playlist is, for lack of a better term, idiotic. The majority of the competitive community in H3 plays custom games instead of matchmaking. I see just as many competitive players every day that I play Halo 3, as I do casual players. Look no one is asking to be catered to. With a shooter/combat simulator style game you don't have to make competition and casual play mutually exculsive. They both can be catered to. The competitive community isn't as "insignificant" as you think so please stop demeaning them.

When Bungie gives us an incalculable amount of customization to begin with, and continues to give us more options with every map pack, why then could they not simply add one more menu option to the weapons menu? It would only affect custom games, which is what the competitive community plays to begin with. We can all have *MY* version of H3 with just a few more custom options.

I understand that the MLG isn't a great indicator of the level or amount of the competitive community. I guess where I was going with that was to counter the whole "if all the competitive's left, no one would be left playing H3". I think that's quite obviously not true. I can also remember how many grandiose promises came around before the MLG playlist went up. That it would be "one of the highest played playlists in H3", "everyone will like it", et cetera. Obviously that isn't true either. Just like competition and casuals aren't mutually exclusive, neither is their view towards the H3 BR. Which is why changing something like it I seriously doubt will happen. Eh, what do I know.

Now I'm a big fan of options and Forge. Do I think giving the option to turn off the BR spread in Forge is a good idea? Actually, I'm still undecided about it. I'm leaning more towards no however. I think it would stop some complaining for about 18 seconds. Then it would open Pandora's box.

Well to answer that, it's simply because the playlist appeased neither crowd completely. It's not completely faithful to the MLG tournament rules, and the casual players don't like getting ragged on every 5 seconds by the MLG wannabes. That's the only community who really plays that playlist religiously; the loudmouthed -blam!-s who think they're the Halo God. These two things combined to produce the wholly undesireable experience that is the MLG playlist.

I'm just curious what your last comment means. What "Pandora's box" are you refering to? Honestly there's not that many more custom options that they can give us, so if you're getting at a slippery slide issue, like people will start demanding fully customizeable environments or something like that, then I really don't see it.

BB, you are an idiot and you always tell people that they shouldn't have this or that even if it doesn't affect anyone else. You were against the MLG playlist, you were against BR starts and now you are against giving people the OPTION to turn off something in CUSTOM games and you are complaining about it.

The pandoras box you are referring to is that fact that you are scared that the BR spread being off would become the main way to play the game. Why do you hate the BR so much...geez.

Someone said that 5k in MLG playlist doesn't represent the competitive players, and you are correct sir. I didn't even think about all the customs people play. But even so, 10 yr old AR noobs out number us 100 fold anyway you look at it.

But, i don't see how an option is that much of a big deal. If someone was talking about an option to make the AR more powerful, I wouldnt' give a crap about it. Why would I? It's an option i would never use. Thanks.

Not possible. The Trueskill system (H3's) is quadratic and relative... there are no set point values, therefore, no bars to fill, etc.
