I have no proof at all of this being included. This is just a topic to discuss. With that said, I think there should be a toggle for flag returns to be more than just walking over it... like holding X to pick it up and take it back to the base. It just makes sense to me, and ctf games always seemed to go on forever. With this flag return option, it would be more difficult to get the flag back for the defense, but easier to score for offense... thus, a quicker game.

The only thing is, when both teams have the flag it would make a much longer game.

the harder it is to win, the better it is. that is what makes it more challenging. you just argued against yourself.

if you manage to hide at there score point and take the flag guy down, you deserve to have the flag teleport away to your base. otherwise defense would be impossible.

You're probably right, I'm mostly just shooting the sh-stuff before halo 2 comes out. I've been trying to think up interesting changes in gameplay, and throw it out there to see what people think.

its cool, its just thats my philosophy about halo. i also hate the idea of peaking tho. like there will be a standoff of two people that peek at each other? i dont see it happening like that- ill throw a nade and jump over a barrier and shoot the hell out of them. peeking sounds moot-like what a cow thinks, it doesnt matter.

sprinting sounds cool tho. tho they have boost now, so maybe it changed to vehicles? that would suck, but a possibility....

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

Well that's the beauty of CTF games, they are meant to last. I played one on Sidewinder once, we had played each other, (the teams), so much that we knew EXACTLY what the other team was doing practically. The game went 6 hours long and it was only a 3 flag game. The kills were in the high 400's. Now THAT was a game.

Ok, this exact idea was in a thread, about 5 down, it was sort of a poll, i think they probably got that idea from you... but anyway, as i mentioned in that thread.... i wouldnt like the carry the flag back to teturn it method.

They could do a team stacks-on, get a guy to grab the flag, scale the team-mate-ladder, and hide with the flag ontop of the level (in glitch-ville) [for a level without banshees] where the other team couldnt get to. Remember, you can always have the flag on the return on time setting. Gives the offenders abit more of a chance.... and makes it abit harder on the defenders, it levels out, thats how we play, though sometimes i wish we didnt

who ever won or did it even finish cos people hade school or work to go to?
and i get annoyed if i die 10+ times in a game plus the peeps i play ctf with are lopsided in their skill so one team is always worse and bound to lose

This was I think of a Friday night, (in a college dorm), and the teams were USUALLY even... we tried making sure of that but it was usually 6th Floor vs 8th. It got to the point where some wanted to call the other floor and ask for a stalemate. Though the game might've been on a weekday. We played from early March till the end of the semester EVERY night, 8-16 people. LoL, and we still had all good grades...
