I try to open a server but , no one can join... I'm using a router , do I have to have some settings changed? I have ports on default settings.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

I realize this is an old thread, but I have the almost the same problem, and I'm too much of an idiot to figure out how the heck to post a new topic in this forum. (Sorry for the hijack)

This started back in April or May of '07, I can host servers, people can see them, but they cannot join them. I used to be able to host joinable servers- then suddenly, I couldn't. I have yet to find a reasonable answer as to why, or how to fix this problem.

Flash forward to August of this year. I've upgraded to FIOS, got a new router- and still have the problem. My router isn't on www.portforward.com, but using old guides i got the ports set up correctly, and I've got the proper exceptions and ports on the windows firewall. I have CA antivirus, and use OpenDNS.

I'm definatly not the only person with this problem. (I estimate about 1/6 of all halo pc players have this problem).

Can anyone out there help us?

Check your ports. There are websites that will test for you.
