Well just when we thought it was safe to put that Halo CD back in....Unfortunately..The same guy that released the haloloop2 exploit has now released another one that works against the new patch...It is called halofp.exe here is his website that he is distributing it from.
http://aluigi.altervista.org/index.htm
what this exploit does is make the server seem full and then after some time it crashes the server...Isnt there something we can do to stop this guy?? Roger, Hopefully you see this and its not too much to ask to fix this bug as well...This is getting rediculous....

exploit is confirmed on my dedi server + ingame server with both the new patch (1.07.615) and the old 1.07 patch.
apparently its a form of DoS, as it mimics multiple clients connecting, causing the server to become full. the server will lag a LOT! also.

The bungie guy stated that he will release this small fix and see what happens pretty much.

Since it was easily modified to work with the patch, looks like they need to seriously recode something or just drop the game because he will probably figure out how to re work it over and over.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Damn it. Yes, this exploit works with the new patch.

The guy who is making this is an ass. Why does he do this? To watch severs go down for fun?

I think the new 1.07 build was to see how it works for a final patch right?
If this guy can continually upgrade to work with all the new patches, we're -blam!-ed.
That or if another patch isn't released.

Well like Roger said this patch was unofficial more than likely they were waiting to see how smart this guy really is...It will probably take a few tries to finally get a patch that will stop all this. Lets just hope that GB and Bungie have the patience to hang in there with us all.

He meant, you can't download. If you try, it says sever connection times out. I wanted to go onto his forums to complain and tell the -blam!- what i thought. But it timed out. And it does that when you try to download. :D

The site is down, it's probably been shut down by aluigi or it's host. And Madkiller92, if you HAD told Zagan to stfu and to kill himself, etc. etc., he would've DDoSed you kid. If he has the ability to DDoS Gamespy, he can DDoS you.

I wouldn't had said STFU or kill yourself. I might ask him why is he doing it, and why is he ruining halo. And what is DDoS? I'm guessing it's bad.
A denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) or distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack) is an attempt to make a computer resource unavailable to its intended users.
Wow, that's pretty bad. But how would he get me?

Luigi doesn't make these programs with the intent on using them to take down halo. Instead, he does it to make the companies fix their mistakes. While I don't agree with him releasing his programs to the public, I can see that by doing so it makes the companies correct the problem ie bungie in this case. He was the one who discovered the problem back in the 1.06 patch (prob even further back) which should have been fixed properly the first time. Luigi has done this same kind of work of exposing exploits in dozens of other games and programs like TS, Vent, and gamespy's network.
Now im not defending Luigi, I just think that ppl here should know what they are talking about before they start bashing.

Well If he was just trying to be constructive than why release it to the public with user friendly instructions on how to use the program. There are at least 20 clans that I know of that spend between 150-250 dollars a month on servers. In my clans case all this money comes from donations that we receive. This is what keeps our clan afloat. If he was not intending on creating issues than why release it?? Why not report the exploit to the right people?? I am sorry but there is nothing constructive about releasing something like that to the general public.

And, wouldn't' that be a stupid way for Halo pc to be destroyed? Some guy who is tying to be "constructive".

Imagine that u saw someone get wrongfully killed by some cops and u have the whole thing on video tape. So you go to the police but they won't take any action b/c its their own thats involved. Now according to your reasoning, you wouldn't go public with the vid b/c those aren't the "right" people.
Luigi is much the same way. The "right" people might not address his concerns if he were to go to them exclusively. But if he goes public with the info so that the expliot gets enough attention, it forces the game designers to do something about it.
Like I said before Im not defending Luigi. Im simply playing devil's advocate b/c I have nothing better to do atm.

Example command-line for testing haloboom versus your server:

haloboom 127.0.0.1

While for the patches:

- download them (save as):
http://aluigi.org/patches/haloloopfix.lpatch
http://aluigi.org/patches/haloboomfix.lpatch

- download the patcher (the tool which allows you to easily apply them to your executable):
http://aluigi.org/mytoolz.htm#lpatch

- now you can check the following video or the subsequent step-by-step which guides in the patching process (which is really trivial so you will have no problems with it):
aluigi.org/video/lpatch.avi

- launch lpatch.exe
- select this haloboomfix.lpatch file
- read the message windows and click yes
- select the file halo.exe or haloded.exe to patch
- read the message windows to know if everything has been patched correctly
- test your game
(and naturally the same for haloloopfix.lpatch too)

If you receive a "permission denied" error means that your Halo executable is write protected, so remove that flag

I guess he had good intentions, but it's not turning out good.
Like how bitterbanna didn't think his aimbot would be to damaging, he never had bad intentions with it.
