Why is that? Because Halo is a mature game, so in playing it, or talking about it, we should all be exposed to someone's potty mouth?

Actually, it's because the no-noob rule is a moderator rule, not a Bungie rule. Bungie just happens to not disagree.

Oh, that "N" word. Whew. For a second there, I thought we were no longer allowed to discuss the dark, stealthy ways of ancient Japanese assassins.

It's a moderator rule?

Who's idea was that one? I feel inclinded to say Stosh since he's of the "cuddly wuddly" type.

With his power on b.net, he banned it in a effect to forget his hurtful childhood.

Hmm. So, does this all mean it's legal for moderators to call us noobs, but not vice versa?

I think N00b is nessisary. It's part of net speak. Either way if the Mods don't want it, I respect that.

I think that the 'online community' has made up some of the -blam!-est words ever. Examples are 'teh' 'nub' 'wigger'. But I rather like the shortened 'tard'.

I see why the N word is not used, but I find it hypocticall for the B.net forums. Given that the new employees of Bungie are in the group 'Newbies'. (That being a direct quote, do not BL me for quoting Bungie. Please......No ninja abuse.)

If someone wants to be a little idiot and call people names from his computer in his dark dafe room fine for him. Let him grow up to amount to be a lonely deppressed guy with a good salary but no friends. The rules are their to be followed, due to crazy ninjas with swords standing over the big tavern of people who are naked.

It is, on every other forum on the internet, however I find that the creme of the crop is B.net and that is one of the main reasons. (Seriously, go find another gaming forum with intelligent posts and this many people and I will eat my shoe)

The noob word is actually not that harsh that it should be banned, in my opinion. But it's good anyway that the dudes who over use it get banned, it's still an offensive word.
