and to lucian or w/e.... you can't say that the flood are boring. Ok, it did get pretty repetitve in the Library, but when we first found out about the flood in "The Two Betrayals," you have to admit it made for a good plot twist and added to the storyline. All bungie would have to do is make the AI of the flood a bit more advanced and maybe add some different forms, like covenant infected forms.

From Bungie's Halo 2 faq, and I quote:

Q : Which characters will be returning in Halo 2?

A : Naturally the Chief will take center stage again in his efforts to save mankind from the Covenant threat. And what would MC do without his favorite AI construct Cortana?

We can't reveal anymore than that just yet but stay tuned...

That wasn't in the faq on this site, so if you read that somewhere else it may not have been official. I don't know about previous posts and whatnot. Did Bungie state that the flood would be returning in a thread? If thats the case then sorry guys... but you could have said that instead of saying it was in the faq (except for snipe assault).

if enough people were saying that it was true and saying the EXACT same thing then why not just believe us

and yes i do remember something saying naturally since there were other halos they are of course returning or something like that

Ok first of all only 3 people have said that the flood will be returning... they just said it over and over again. And second of all, if 3 people.... even 300 people... told you they have, say, demos of halo 2, would you believe them? No, because bungie specifically stated that demos weren't released. And that's the case here.

I'm not saying your wrong, I'm not saying I'm right.... I just want PROOF. And no one has offered that yet, so no, I'm not gonna believe non-bungie people

a new species in the other ring would NOT fit into the Halo story......the halo ring was for and i quote

"for containment and study of the flood"- said by either Cortana or Guilty Spark, i dont remember which.....

EXACTLY MY POINT, he says "THIS installation was built for cantainment and study of the flood" NOT, THESE installationS. just because its a Halo, doesnt mean that the Flood are on it, maybe the Forerunners built each Halo for study of different species... there is NO comfirmation what so ever of the Flood returning. If so, give me a link.

Except, I do think Halo needs more aliens to kill, yeah, I do admit, Two Betraylls was pretty fun, but the Flood did become a boring enemy, the Covenant however, were always fun to fight. I think a new species would be awesome!

Exactly. We don't know whether or not the flood will be back. But it would make sense if the forerunners were studying OTHER species on the other rings.... which means more aliens...

Jason Jones, Bungie lead for Halo and Halo 2's story, stated inside an interview with EGM and several other gaming magazines that the Flood are returning. And I quote, " The Covenant and Flood both have some history. Naturally this will be shown in Halo 2. " also in another instance when asked about the Flood he said, " What? You think we'd just throw them away? "

Also the Flood are an essential part to Halo's story. Like it or not.

I think there is going to be 7 halos the number 7 is so obivious (7th column...) And 7 halos would wipe out whole galaxy.

Thats all a load a crap. You know nothing of the Flood returning.

yea i guess all the faqs and gaming mags that talk about how bungie said the flood is returning is all a load of crap right. study up on halo 2 at different faqs before askin stupid questions and stating things u have no evidence of.

First off there needs to be more than 7 Halos to effectively wipe the galaxy clean.

Back Round:
A Halo destroys all life within 25,000 ly from it's self.

Dimensions of the Milky Way Galaxy:
100,000 ly diameter
300 ly thickness
16,000 ly bulge at the galactic center

Placement of Halos:
1 at the galactic center for the bulge
4 on the x-axis 25,000 ly from the galactic center
+ 8 on the x-axis near the edged of the galaxy
----
13
-1 Destroyed by the MC
----
12 Halos

As for the idiot that said they were all wiped out in one blow.

How do you know that? You don't. Simple as that. And for all we know the Forerunner, the builders of the Halos, could have foreseena potential destruction of their precious rings. So they put more samples of the Flood on the different Halos should research be lost to reasons beyond their control. Also they could cross reference and blah blah blah.

Also read above to my previous repsonse.

I think that IF they do return, they arent going to be on the new Halo world, but I think that like maybe a Flood infection got off Halo with one of the ships, like on MC's ship or if you read the books youll know that there WERE other marines that got off of the Halo in ships, a infection could have been on one of those, think about it, on the Maw, when you run to the ship you can see that the door of the ship was already open when MC got on, therefore a infection could have been hiding. and when it reached earth it could have infected a marine, or a civilian or whatever, and that civilian infected someone else and so on and so forth, causing a huge epidemic, I HIGHLY doubt that the new Halo world also has Flood, the Forerunners built "Installation 04" (the Halo we all now and love) to contain and study the Flood, Im sure they wouldnt go through the trouble to build another Halo to contain more of the Flood, Im sure its a new species and new trouble for us.

Perhaps there is a new species, but according to Hikaru 119 and Jason Jones, the flood will be returning. No doubt it'll be interesting to see how Bungie decides to intertwine the flood into Halo 2's storyline, along with the possibilty of other alien races.

No, but they would go through the trouble to destroy all sentient life in the galaxy through the elaborate use of Rings that are very much like planets on the surfcace. Which if you ask me is a much bigger task to accomplish as compared to capturing and containing a bunch of little infection forms.

Yeah... that is true, but I dont think they meant for all sentient life to be destroyed, the destruction of the Halo was to insure the destruction of the Flood by wiping out all of their food, aka sentient life. I dont think the Forerunners built it just to destroy the galaxy, they prolly did that for a back up plan incase the species that inhabbited the Halos were released upon the Galaxy.

You don't know how this ring works do you? Why the Forerunner built it. Halo doesn't kill the flood, it kills their food. Humans, Covenant, whatever. We're all equally edible. "

- Cortana, beginning of Two Betrayals.

" Is this true? "

- Master Chief, Same level

" More or less. Actually this installation's effective blast radius is only 25,000 light years. But once the others follow suit, this galaxy will bne quite devoid of life. "

-343 Guilty Spark, Same level

The activation of Halo was meant to wipe out all sentient life in the first place. It doesn't destroy the galaxy, just their food. And yes they did do that should the Flood ever be relased.

If that wipes out all sentient life, wouldn't that mean it would also wipe out the Forerunners? Why would they do that to themselves?.... unless... the forerunners aren't sentient life...

Uhm I'm not sure if I heard Guilty Spark correctly but...I'm pretty certain I heard him say The Flood get smarter with each passing something which would explain how they can use weapons and aim I tried checking up on a quotes faq but it's not in there. The closest thing was their" parasitic nature belies their intelligence " but I couldn't find the quote I thought I heard. I just spent a lot of time on the Library for that sole purpose of collecting missing quotes- Maybe next time.

Anyway as for Halo 2- yeah there's a video on Gamespot that talks about other Halos. I think it's the developer/development video (2004) And why would one Halo have the Flood? Only one.. That would not make sense, oh and that doesn't make Bungie "stupid" if they brought the Flood back you acne acred gellatinous orca.
