HI all! I'm new to these forums and I can't wait for Halo 2 for PC.

I was wondering how I would play in a multiplayer level in Halo PC if I'm not hooked up to a LAN or the Internet. I've always wanted to just explore the areas because the single-player mode starts to get boring after a year. Whenever I click on "multiplayer" on the main screen, it always kicks me out of the game, and freezes my computer. I don't know why.
I can play by myself in other games like need for speed and delta force, but not this one. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

well, you don't need to be connected to the internet if you click multiplayer, then under create game, LAN

but as soon as I click "multiplayer", it flips out and freezes. Maybe the newest patch will fix the problem...

If you mean freeze like the game stops, and the background music loops itself over and over, dont worry, its just the program connecting to the internet. Let it freeze, wait a while, and let it unfreeze itself.

no, it puts Halo on the toolbar, pops up a little alert that says "Gathering Exception Data..." and then tells me that Halo has encountered a serious error and needs to quit and sometimes freezes. I have no Internet service on my gaming computer and it's not connected to a LAN of any type. I was just wondering why it won't let me play by myself when all my other games let me.

^^^ that prevents certain games from doing multiplayer, such as BFV.

Unless you have the cd image mounted in something like daemon tools, chances are you will encounter roadblocks. Get Alcohol 120, make a cd image of halo, and mount it...that's assuming you bought the game...

Usually, you would just create a LAN game, pick the map, and start game. But in this case the whole "freezing up and kicking you out" seems to be a bigger problems. Perhaps with your graphics card, perhaps with your game. Maybe even your computer. Do you ever get an error message after this? Do you play on a laptop? I have a laptop, drivers for laptops are different (b/c of the screen, i guess) and I sometimes get error messages when I try to play. Never something like this, though.

Nope, my game is definitely not cracked. I got it from the Microsoft Store.
Let's see, tech specs: I've got a desktop computer that I built

AMD Thunderbird 800 MHz
ASUS A7PRO Socket A motherboard
GeForce 2 MX400 64MB
PC-133 512MB RAM
Sound Blaster Live! 5.1
DVD-ROM 16x48x
CD-RW 52x24x52x
floppy and Zip100
Network card w/ working drivers

hmm...It could be a problem with my computer; it always has lots of little annoying problems.
