When I was 10, I played video games. In addition, I played baseball, basketball, soccer, hung out with friends, rode my bike, skied, played percussion, and read books. You know, did a variety of things.
This isn't enthusiasm. This is obsession.Exactly. Making one weapon is cool. Making the entire inventory is overboard. Most people don't get it, but one's life should be balanced. Not too much of any one of few things. And not too little of any one or few things (though there are some things you should just completely not do, and while a thing may be good most of the time, it can be bad if you take it too far).
I agree that one's life should be balanced, but just because his isn't according to one's own standards, it doesn't give one the right to make fun of him. People are naturally drawn to the things they enjoy [obv]. Some people are more drawn to specific things, and eventually isolate these things until they're the only thing they do, hence obsession, or dare I say, addiction . Contrary to the uneducated belief, drugs aren't the only things people can become addicted to. Do you know how this kid's mind works? No. Do I? No. But based on the knowledge and experience that I have, I think it's fair to say this kid is addicted to Halo, in the literal sense. In that case, you shouldn't be making fun of him, because he's not choosing to continually be addicted, he just is. Then again, maybe it's just a phase, and he'll outgrow it. Point is, people don't know this guy, and you can't make a definite judgment about his sociability until you do.
Additionally, shame on you who insult him. Fear of difference and lack of understanding are the sole basis of your name-calling. Just because it isn't something you would do doesn't make it wrong. This kid has a life; maybe you should try using yours for something productive instead of typing pointless insults that make you appear asinine.
Finally, I just want to express my admiration for the boys ingenuity, and sense of humor. The sound effects and teabagging made me laugh, and I was impressed by the attention to detail and amount of time put in to what he's done.
