Hey guys, does anyone actually know why bungie got rid of the clan matches a while back? I remember when Halo 2 came out and clans actually served a purpose. Clan matches were so much fun, was there any actual reasoning behind getting rid of them, other than adding new playlists?

Campiagn Kill Count :31,745. And growing.

The Revisionaries- One of the greatest screenshot groups on B.net. With 250 members and growing.

I guess not enough people were using it.

I wasn't around when it got there, but I heard it was pretty cool.

Halo 2 is dying, but wont die. So people who have clans probably only have about 3 members anyway, bringing it back would be pointless. Now if people did start to play it again, and Halo 2 got 100k users online or more like Halo 3, then I would start to play Matchmaking again.

I'm not quite sure if a low population contributed, but if I remember the main reason was due to the fact that extremely skilled players could keep creating new clans over and over again and destroy those who were just getting into the clan matches, which resulted in utter chaos.

Well, I'm not saying about bringing it back, just wondering what happened.

Clan matches were only around for like 5 or 6 months after halos release before bungie took that playlist off. Every clan I was ever in had at least 20-25 members and there were always clan matches going on.

I'd love to see them in Halo 3, but that wont happen. Clans were sweet, too bad bungie decided to get rid of them.
