Im talking about the real modders, not the cheaters. Most halo players dont know the difference. Cheaters, are those idiots who are on matchmaking using auto aim, fast running, and jumping high. Modders are the people who just like to have a little more fun with the game, explore outside the bounderies. I mod Halo 2 (offline, not xbl!) and its very fun. Like making a campaign map a multiplayer map, making your character an odst, getting new models such as a motercycle with chainguns on, and just skinning the whole place while AI are everywhere shooting. I ask you halo 2 fans, what is your grudge against modders? Focus it on cheaters.

I also have experience in modding Halo 2 offline. I really see nothing really wrong with the type of modding you describe, as long as it's kept offline, it's just the people that use modding to gain an advantage over other players online that give modding a bad name.

But the bad part is most modders started out like that, or just played custom games with modders who did. I knew a good few who did a few years ago... now matchmaking is probably filled with them huh?

Match making has no more modders

Modding refers to modifying content. Cheaters are modifying the content when using auto aim and other things like that, and therefore are modders too.

Modding offline is a lot of fun, and I still do it all the time. The point is, modding is modding. Cheating is cheating.

Yes tnt is right there is no more modding in matchmaking anymore and its not hurting anybody when they play a custum game maybe they will make the other players mad but otherwise harmless.

Thus he came alone to Angband's gates, and he sounded his horn, and smote once more upon the brazen doors, and challenged Morgoth to come forth in single combat. And Morgoth came.

Get a modded Xbox. With some computer hardware knowledge and the ability to follow tutorials, almost anyone can do it. You don't even have to buy a chip.

Just look around in Google.

I did it a slightly harder way. I hard drive swapped with my computer. But its really easy to screw something up so I wouldn't recommend unless it was last resort.

Get SID 5.0 and your set for an easy softmodding experiance. Anywho, I love to mod halo 2 and I play offline with my buddies all the time. I also go on xlink kai if i'm really bored of playing by myself.

Just, please, don't. Not only do you risk getting the banhammer, but then the game doesn't work right if your not host. Or the people that aren't host, wonder why everything is so glitchy. I don't think client Xbox's that aren't modded can see the mods if your host and then get confused. I'd rather keep it local.

I also wouldnt tell on the forums you modded matchmaking. Bungie watches.

  • 07.12.2008 1:45 PM PDT

Yeahhhhhhhhh, about that....
I can explain.

I was banned (below) for calling someone a cotton-headed ninnymuggen. My offensive language is too much for this website.

I always thought modding was awesome. Custom Games Etc.
Not cheating your rank up in Matchmaking.....
People who do that can go -Blam- themselves.
