How do you avoid this? I find it nearly impossible not to glance at my opponent's screens on a split-screen... I try my hardest, but my peripheral vision at least will give me enough data to determine their location. It just seems next to impossible for me *not* to look at their part of the screen. Do you guys have any solutions?

Hello, I'm Daryl. Nice to meet you. See you around.

Well, if you are really into the match then you wouldn't look down there, and probably wouldn't need to. But yes, it is very tempting.

Simple answer: play LAN matches. Therelatively short amount of time spent setting everything up is well worth it, the strategy of the game really shifts once you cant see the opponents screen

If not you could rig up some kinda cardboard structure to block the views of people. I used to do that all the time in Goldeneye

It is very tempting to screen-look. It isn't really classed as cheating and all the data is blatently infront of you (above or below your screen). The best way to avoid screen-looking of split-screen is not to have split screen.

2 xboxs, 2 copies of the game, 2 TV's and a LAN cable can easily sort all this out. Better to put one of each in separate rooms (if not possible, face TV's away from each other and use headphones for the sound).

Having the LAN game set up you may aswell get 6 more controllers and gamers and have a full on 4vs4 game. In a free for all with 8 players it doesn't really matter about screen-looking as the game is so fast (in small maps mind you) that screen looking isn't effiecient.

This is because with screen-looking you look at the opponents screen and then hunt him down. You do this on a 8 player free for all you're bound to bump into someone else before you get anywhere close to your target

My first solution: I got a book stand shaped like this [ it's as wide as my T.V, put it at the level of the screen divide. One player needs to look at the screen from high up (top screen) and one from down low such as lying on the floor. Not the best but I had to improvise.

My second solution: I invested in a system link cable as my friend has an xbox. System link is better in every way.

My third solution: I went on to get a relly long cable so me and my friends could play as teams in seperate rooms. If you want to do this search eBay for 'RJ45 crossover cable' to get the best deal.

I agree. Peripherial vision accounts for all of it. I've been accused of cheating. What you can do is have a piece of cardboard shaped in the shape of a +. That way, it who ever is on bottom sits down, and who ever is on top stands up. If you see someone lean over, that means that they're cheating. Just measure how far each line goes in each direction on your tv, but go a little bit further, so no one can see a little bit. Then, either have side supports, or have it taped onto the tv. I plan on patenting a solution for that. Make a thing that can be supported, and, have different sizes for different tvs (ie 15"-big screens). I just have to have supply and demand to work it out. Or, I can have one size, but the longer sides can be removed for smaller tv's, and be added on for larger tv's (like Gearbox's President, 129" pull down projector screen for Halo). patent pending.
