Dude read better the slipspace drive in the Gettysburg to get close then take a small ship of that to the ground. Not even big guns can shoot slipspace!

Does anyone else agree with me?

It is possible and you have to look no further than the Matrix to find out how.

Humanity is on the eve of destruction from a superior enemy (the robots)
Nobody thought it was possible to get into the heavily guarded robot homeland yet Neo found a way through and in the end joined forces with the robots to stop an enemy that was a danger to them all.

Just a theroy but, Master Chief and the spartans are the last chance for human survival in a war that is going terribly for them. MC finds a way into the covenant homeland and joins with them to stop the flood, leading to a truce and the end of the war.

The final battle... Spartans and Covenant vs. an onslaught of flood and maybe another enemy joined with the flood.

Just my 2 cents

Yes indeed there might be no way to reach the Covie homeworld because there just might not be a Covie Howeworld (this theory should be named after me cause I'm the only one who brings this up!)

At the end of First Strike, it just describes a bulbous planetoid (meaning something smaller than a fully formed planet!) plus it was called Sanctum of the Heirarchs (a sanctum a planet?!) And last but noit least (what this is all based on) is the utter disregard for planets that the Covies have... their glassing habbits obviously show no value of habitable planets (again last chapter in FS the room is filled with shards from conquered worlds).

I think the Covies might be looknig for time travelling capabilities (with the crystals) so it wouldn't matter haw many planets they glassed... they could go back before any race ever evolved and have all the planets in the galaxy they could ever want.

And maybe Dr. Halsey taking Kelly and running off had something to do with Ackerson's sneaky stuff and we can't forget that the Cheif has got the info on the Flood and the anti-Flood condition of Srgt Johnson (i think Halsey might also have this info... she's sneaky like that). Oh yeah and then there's Cortana and all the info she's got on the Forerunners, Covies and the Halo's...

I think the hunters will begin revolting and would be joined by the under apriciated grunts. The hunters would revolt because i read that they don't believe in the religion of the prophets which would cause tensions bettween the races. Then while this is happening on the covie homeworld mc and the others launch a strike against it.

Well if the hunters do revolt they won't bring the grunts...In the books they say the hunters only associate with the elites. They might even bring the elites with the revolution because the elites don't like the brutes and thus break off the covanent.

Tell me where you found this info. Obviously it's on Earth, a New Halo, maybe a Space Station and Maybe the Moon, But it has not been confirmed about the rest specially the Covenant Homeworld.

The Halo Hitman has a point.but what about the jackels and grunts.what would they join forces with the brutes and start a civil war?

okay c'mon guys, anyone who tells you that Bungie confirmed any level (as of yet) other than New Mombasa (the interview at e3 this year was very tight lipped even on the subject of there being another Halo) is simply lying. We know several MP maps that are -of course- subject to change but we only know of one single player level.

As far as the Covie civil war theory. It is established that all Covie races have some beef with at least one of their counterparts but it was very suspicious (at the end of FS) as how the Prophets were using the Brutes and the Elites and comparing their strenghts with Hunters'. I think the general idea should be that the Prophets are the most evil and therefor the least trusted and most feared... they are -so far- the ones with the true knowledge on Covie tech (excluding the Engineers).

Sorret the Wolf! Slipspace is not a weapon discharge! It's a way of getting to places that cannot be seen in Normal Space. READ THE BOOKS.

O.K If anyone rememebers Cortana finds that when she opens the Slipspace drive it shows a star map with different pockets of trajectories, thats why the Covenenat can "Zoom" to a spot or Planet with such accuracy. If Cortana went back to Earth at that time in the book the Coive tracking system would be able to locate Earth. The Covie Homeworld is made of Ice(i think). How can weget to the Covie homeworld? Find out in the game, or if Eric writes a new book.

Now THAT would be f-ing AWESOME!!! AND that would be a HUGE plot twist. Think about it: 343 GS got away from halo before it was destroyed, and survived. Now, becuase GS is insane, He will think that becuase the Halo Ring was not activated, The Flood are loose, and the Galaxy is already lost! So he might go to ANOTHER Halo, and release the flood on Earth to get revenge on the MC. But the Covies are threatened too, so, the humans and covenant join forces to defeat a HUGE onslaught of Flood!

And maybe the Master Cheif is NEO, and 343 Guilty Spark is Agent Smith! SHOWDOWN:
THE MASTER CHEIF VERSUS 343 GUILTY SPARK. Hahahahahahahhaha that would be so fun! Although that prolly wouldnt happen, becuase Bungie tries to be completely original in their games.

Anyone else agree with me?

Maybe there is a way to get to the covie homeworld!!!!!

In first strike when Cortana is experimenting with the Covenant slipspace she learns that you can do a slip space jump to inside the atmosphere of a planet. This means that using Cortana would be able to do a slipspace jump past all of the COvenant security.

underlying here is the fact that you are only one man fighting againt armageedon.. not that im a pessimist... and i would really like to see mC win.. but do you think that you efforts might come in vain in the end.. how about that for a plot twist

I think the Covenant would be very suspicious of a ship that apears out of slipspace next to their homeworld without completing a single required protocol, don't you?
Getting to the Covenant homeworld would be very hard, a human ship would be atomised and a captured human ship would have to pass protocols that are changed hourly. Like someone said, Cortana could find them and use them in time as the Covenant often work on unencripted channels, though even with her it would be difficult.

Then supposing the ship gets through and supposing Master Chief and the others do set foot on the Covenant homeworld, then what?
The Covenant forces would be astronomical, beyond belief. Granted they are masters at stealth but i think even Spartans wouldn't survive those odds for very long. The only way we could have success on the covenant homeworld realistically is if they let us get there.

I don't know why, maybe as a trap, maybe to talk maybe they need help but its the only way it would be possible without death in some way

The only other way which no-one has yet mentioned is the ONI stealth ships which are almost entirly invisible, maybe they have a shot, but again I doubt it.

It never said covenant homeworld all bungie said was that we would be taking the war to the covenant this time. That and there are more than one covenant homeworld there a collective of species thus lots of homeworld (I shiver to think of assaulting the Elite homeworld!)

Yes! there is no one Covie Homeworld! Taking the fight to the Covenant is all they say (and bulbous planetoid is all that's said in the books)

well focused7 I suggest you read Bungie's official Halo 2 FAQ and you will see that no such levels have been confirmed. They also leave lots of other matters up to speculation such as bots, online content and story.

I agree with the fact that their are many Covenant homeworlds in reality, one for each species that make up the collective. But in another sense there will be a main homeworld. Obviously it won't be one from the enslaved species as the covenant will no-longer see these worlds as homeworlds in the empires point of view.
I think in a logical sense where-ever the Prophets mainly reside and control the Covenants operations will be the 'Homeworld' of the Covenant though it was stated in the Flood that the prophets left their original homeworld for reasons unknown.
There must be a homeworld of sorts, however, a center of the covenant controlled space and the heart of its operations.
Dr. Halsey clearly states in Fall of Reach that there is a homeworld for the Covenant, as it was part of the Spartans original mission to find it and Halsey must have been aware that each caste must have a homeworld of its own.
Therefore, in conclusion, the must be a Covenant homeworld

Here is my theory:

The covenent only know what the prophets have told them. If somehow some truth was uncovered which would reveal that the prophets were not descendents of the Forrunner and they simply stole/adopted the technology. Then the whole structure they created stemming from supposed forrunner ancestor connection could collapse. Its hard to say what race would take what sides.

I couldn't even imagine what the elites would think after finding out prophets were not from forrunner...

I also believe that Cortana may find some use out of the original Halo's index, and could some how modify it to only fire one Halo ring rather all in sequence. If this is possible we could make a trip to a Halo neighboring then cove homeworld and fire it. If we did not know where it was, maybe 343 will come into the picture, we could *accidentally* let it fall into 343's hands and let him activate the modded program which would fire near cove homeworld. This theory can open up to many different plot twists, yet still arrive at a quite similar ending.

I totally agree, there might not be a mission to the covie homeworld in halo 2 but there is definitely one, i think its the planet mentioned at the end of first strike.
