I want to know if I can use the melee attack when I'm driving a vehicle to repel boarders. Does anyone else think this is needed?

I think that would be good. Because you are like defenceless when a guy boards. I think it would be also cool if you rammed into a wall when someone was on and they like flow forward and got hurt or died.

No, because it's your fault that you let them board you in the first place. NO SECOND CHANCES! And it would make boarding a useless feature because everyone would know the right time to hit B and knock them off.

he means when the guy is already in the warthog right?

people playing zanzibar told stories about people hijacking into the gunner position while an enemy drove....the enemy drove while the gunner (on the other team) killed his enemies....

there should be some way to counter this

There's already a way. There's two ways, in fact.

* Don't let the enemy board the vehicle.
* Hop out of the driver's seat and shoot him.

I'm not suggesting you would be able to kill the boarder, but maybe knock them off or stall them from pulling you out of your seat.

I can drive a car with 1 hand with the other 1 hanging out the window, so I'm sure the MC could give a potential boarder a quick back-handed smack.

Heres what I think
There will be ways to repel boarders but it will rely on your driving skill rather than meleing them off.
Bungie mentioned that boarding warthogs was only step 1 of the phrase, knocking the guy off was another.
This gives the driver many opportunities, knocking the attacker into nearby walls, cliff edges, low bridges etc in an attempt to knock him off.
Swerving the vehicle violently, the attacker may lose their grip and fall of.
And lastly, the L trigger is the handbrake. It can be used to make dead stops and tight turns which would cause anyone on the hood of the warthog (realistically) to be sent flying!
These are defensive methods that I belive will be possible to repel attackers in the short moment before they boot you out of your position, but you'll have to be quick.
Another defensive method is not to drive like an old age pentioner, giving the people the chance to board your vehicle in the first place, though at times this will obviously be unnavoidable.
With some vehicles, like the ghost or the warthog gunner position though, I think there will be little, if any, defensive options

I think this is funny, and make for funny situations in the game. Since both sides can do it, i think it's already fair.

Okay..the mention of using the hand brake to throw boarders made me think of this;

If I turn the warthog into a sharp right turn and jam on the handbrake, will this cause me to roll over and crush the boarder? (and potentially ejecting me?)

And if I can indeed roll the warthog in this fashion, if I did it turning left do you think you could jump out as it starts to roll?

you cant eject yourself....this isnt a driving game and therefore does not focus on the driving like ur suggesting......

it will be the way it will be

i never mentioned rolling, just sharp turns using the handbrake, but in either case you should be able to jump out

I know it's not a driving game, but top heavy vehicles will roll if you drive them like I suggested. Besides, didn't another microsoft game company that does driving games give Bungie so help?

Yeah, it's called "jumping out and sticking a Plasma Grenade to the vehicle".

from what I have heard, driving the Warthog will be pretty much equivalent to playing a racing game, so who said that they won't be focusing on the driving aspect of the game, that part will be completely revamped and "realified".

I think there should be no defences, and i think the whole boarding process is just one button push in multiplayer to make it easier, but in single player it is a multi-phase process
