2.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4
384 MB RAM
16MB ATI Radeon MOBILITY 7500

Whadya think? Should I break my copy of Halo? Or should I grit my teeth, bite the bullet, and turn everything to 'Low'?

Then we get back to the old question, can a laptop be upgraded? If not then he is stuck with his card and halo will be just one still frame (very still!!) after another.

Heyyo,

7500's still a nice vidcard. Sure, not top-of-the-line, but none the less a nice vidcard.

Just turn off decals, and shadows and specular, set particles low and set textures high. Screenrez to 640x480, framerate to vsync of novsync. that should do fine. ;)

laptop's don't have upgradeable videocards unless you have a state-of-the-art alienware $5000 USD laptop that has a 8x AGP port. ;)

Do they make laptop AGP cards? I saw one on the alienware site with PCI-Express.

Nevermind, it's built in.

I did what you said. It looks kinda crappy but its the smoothest I've ever seen it. Wth I used to be able to run it 1024x768 with high particles, but now I no longer can do that.

Wait I have a question. I had a 9250 PCI 256 MB card and it REALLY sucked for how much I paid and yet you're saying the 7500 isn't that bad? I'm confused....

Uh...ya. I used to run at default settings pretty well, then i realized I could change screen resolution, and so I put it at that. Campaign ran swell at 1024x768 and default settings, which is like particles:low and texture:medium. Then again, that was normal, so there are less enemies onscreen. I don't know if that has any effect.

Oy, that hurts. If you're not worried about graphics and want good gameplay, then turn everything to low. Otherwise? Time for a new pc...
