Its like crazy lag like a frame per second, its so crappy, i have double or more of most of the game requirements, i have XP Pro, 1 gig ddr ram, 128 mb GeForce FX5200 Video card, and an AMD 2000 Processor, and im using a 52X read speed drive, I dont see the problem but its lagging like a lot, once i lower the grfaphics like to showing no reality where its plain it loweres the lag rate but still a lot of lag, if someone knows how i can fix this or anything, i tried updating but the server says im all the way up to date, so if anyone knows how to fix this lag or can tell me what to do, if i have to buy something thats not to expensive i will do so. THanks to all who respond pausitively

Heyyo,

Your vidcard's low-end. FX5700's pretty good, and so is an ATI Radeon 9600 Series vidcard.

I suggest you see if you can save some cash.

Turn down your screen rez to 640x480, and set the framerate to vsync or novsync.

textures high, particles low, shadows off, specular off.. decals off.

Your game should be playable, but the only way to combat the lag is to get a better vidcard.

I dont think its his vid card. I got a crappy 64 mb card and it works fine on a 640*what ev res. Just tone down the graphics alot.

I think Ghora got black listed, anyway it's 640x480. I had a 128 MB intel extreme integrated graphics thing and for smooth performance I put it on 640x480 with everything on. It worked fine.

I had an Intel "extreme" graphics integrated thingamajiger and i had to run it in safe mode, 640x480 no nothing and i couldn't even see colours on the models but it worked fine. Yes it is your graphics card, you can't expect to have the newer games run smoothly on high detail with a 5200. I would suggest overclocking it if you dont have any money to upgrade or get a new card. If the card is new, then.... well.... um....

all you need better is a more powerful video card. i recommend going to the geforce 6 series. the fx5700 isn't all that good as many peopel think. the geforce 6600 is only 120 dollars-160 dollars on the internet. then u can play, halo at all settings maxed out.

besides a new video card and updated Halo, you should update your drivers for all of your computer parts: your videocard, sound card, motherboard, and even Windows. Oh yeah, upgrade to DirectX 9.0c if you haven't already.

Motherboards have updatable drivers! I never knew that.
