I just got my dream machine assembled less than a month ago:

AMD Athlon 64 3200
Chaintech VNF4 Zenith Motherboard
1GB Corsair DDR400 Dual Channel
74GB WD Raptor 10k-rpm
Sapphire X850XT
Ultra X-Connect 500-watt PS
MGE Sidewinder case
1x120mm, 3x80mm fans
LG DVD-ROM/CD-RW
Mitsumi Floppy

The 3200 is running at 2.4 GHz (400 mhz overclock)
I dropped the CAS on the RAM to 2, running at 480 instead of 400
X850XT o'ced to 560 clock/560 memory

Oy, it performs like a dream. I will not need to upgrade for quite a while.

Yeah but it doesn't matter cuz it's my parent's PC. I just added RAM and a vid card so I could play Halo PC til I was able to build my own PC. I guess I did my parents a favor....

Haha, same here. Until my home-built pc, the others were family pc's. Imagine the junk on them from other people's random programs.

I saw a site. Michaels computers. The most powerful desktop computers in the world at only £3,000. Google it. They are awesome.

I wouldn't buy a pre built PC when I could just build one for ALOT less. £3000 is ALOT of money. Why spend that much when you could just make one for around £300? If I got lazy and wanted to buy a soley gaming PC, I would buy one of these.

AMD 64 3500+ (socket 939)
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo
nForce 4 SLI chipset
2 GB PC3500 Kingston RAM
dual GeForce 6800 256MB Ultras (linked with SLI to work as one)
Sound Blaster Audigy4
Seagate 400 GB HD
Seagate 174 GB HD @ 10k RPM
DVD+-RW and CD+-RW
Logitech Z-5500 Digital 5.1 speakers
500 watt p/s
Wireless Pre-802.11N Network
Dual 20" LCD low latency monitors
floppy
all in my custom-modded case.

I think that with this, you could probably run Halo with all video and audio settings maxed out with 1600x1200 resolution at around 100fps

(hey, are there any mothboards that have dual PCIe slots, SLI and Pentium 4? cuz I don't really like AMD, but it's the only one with dual PCIe slots and SLI)
