I'm a teacher that plays Halo. What of it?

Is there anyway Bungie can either confirm or deny any of the other rumors about E3? Is what Don Mattrick said in an interview with MTV Multiplayer true about not having enough room to fit Bungie? How about that the game is a new Halo game?

Also, when the news of this does break, will we need to relive the SI fiasco again with complete chaos in the forums?

I understand that this is not Bungie's fault, and I don't blame them. However, with Microsoft's Don Mattrick spewing information to an online blog, I think it would only be fair to Microsoft's and Bungie's loyal fanbase to all allow Bungie to announce their work.

STOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgive you Bungie, the faithful shall wait. Microsoft on the other hand will not be forgiven and is not invited to the Bungie take over the world party :(

Nor can microsoft enjoy any of the Lemon Bars or Rice Crispy Treats that i'll be bringing to that party. And just to twist the blade further, i'm gonna put some M&M's in those Rice Crispy Treats... Whoo boy!

I still don't think this is right. You guys had all of this information out in the open air for a couple of good weeks, so why did Microsoft delay it? Did they want the glory to go to another game or something? I'm confused. They should have known about it earlier instead of 12 hours before the posted time...

I'm not claiming to know the answer here, but the positive/gossip response that Final Fantasy got from it announcement on Tuesday probably create so much buzz that MS feels its better to delay this announcement and reveal it later.... its like an advantage that they can use in the next few months for their marketing..... FF was pretty BIG news, so why bother letting out the latest game from Bungie so soon....... MS Logic, not my preference of course :D

I think thats right too

Microsoft knew that this announcement would steal the spotlight, all of the buzz and hype that microsoft had generated about their other new announcements and games, like the new xbox live experience, or GoW2 or FF

to me GOW 2 & Xbox Live was only big news

You know maybe a few screenies of a new map would calm everyone down a bit........

Have you guys noticed that under company goals, instead of become independent as step 4 i think it now says "Stage bloody coup of parent company". I think I speak for the entire Bungie community when I say that Bungie doing a hostile takeover of Microsoft would probably be the best event of the 21st century, hands down.

....spongy, bungie, who cares? I got mine!

Don't worry Bungie, I don't blame you.
Or Microsoft either.

You guys never promised us anything for e3, we all assumed the Countdown was to reveal something. But you never SAID it was.

So you didn't break any promises.

Without ME it is only AWESO.

Saaaaad Face... ;'(

The only hope we got left is the "New Xbox 360 Game" today at 4:00 on E3.

  • 07.16.2008 11:20 AM PDT

I trust you guys. Do what you have to do.

  • 07.16.2008 11:20 AM PDT

Here is my guess for why this happened:
Well it is obvious Microsoft ruled E3 this year with their press conference. Now, they knew that would be taken away from them if Bungie announced there game(considering Bungie wanted to announce it on their own instead of being in Microsoft's press conference).

So instead of just being cool and being good partners with Bungie, Microsoft decided to instead squash the announcement so they could have E3 to themselves this year. There pettiness and greediness is what caused this. My guess is once E3 blows over, will hear something. Probably within the next few months. All we can do is have patience and as always, REMAIN CALM!

The Master Chief is too cool to be bothered by such silly things as gravity.

I'm sure that, whenever you guys get permission to do your thing, it'll all be worth it. And when that time comes, we'll still be here.

The news still completely ruined my day, though. :/

  • 07.16.2008 11:20 AM PDT

But..., why?

  • 07.16.2008 11:21 AM PDT

I think Bungie wanted to tell everyone that it was a new Halo game; Microsoft stole their thunder and put it in a sound proof room.
