I was kinda still hoping all this was Bungie's plan... the angry videos are flowing on youtube as was promised in last friday's weekly update... although I think at this point it's safe to say that there is no chance.

  • 07.16.2008 5:06 PM PDT

Luke, could you give us more insight into why this happened? You say it was Bungie's publisher, I'm assuming this is Microsoft games? Who ever decided the announcement should be canceled is a major ass.

Dude, Bungie had nothing to do with the lack of an announcement. It is Microsoft who told them to not say anything..

Could we have an idea of when there will be the "sweet announcements" and the "Major Changes to the Halo 3 Online Experience" announcements to us and the media in whichever order it goes?..

That was low microsoft. They excluded Bungie because they wanted to show they didn't need big titles to show they're the best gaming company, and we see how that turned out. In the end, I think microsoft suffered, but not as much as Bungie. Loose-loose situation, just because microsoft has to act like a 4 year old. Kinda insulting. I hope Bungie gets them back BIG time.

And I'm also wondering about the lack of chatter from Bungie on this topic. I mean 26 pages and nobody in Bungie has posted.

wow really dissapointed bungie i waited the whole time and this is what i hear NOTHING!
.......just really mad right now at you guys >=[

Be mad at Microsoft not Bungie, they tried to put on something fun for us and it got pulled.

I have no doubt in my mind that the Bungie crew are just as upset about this as we are but there is no reason for some of you guys that are saying stuff like -blam!- Bungie they screwed us over Blah..Blah..Blah.

It is just annoying that Bungie singlehandedly put the Xbox on the map and they are treated like this.

I'm sure Bungie is pretty pissed. They put a LOT of time into this, recorded a podcast, and made a video. Then Microsoft tell's them they can't release their own news, and then Microsoft accidently leaks the news. I'm guessing if they posted anything right now they'd prolly be more pissed than us, and that just wouldn't look good.

Its alright. I can wait. Im patient.

Waiting for PAX, microsoft actually making a good decision? Or are they just waiting so the game can be in a better form and get the hype train rolling at a much faster pace later on? Or maybe they dont want to risk taking some of the spotlight from Gears 2 or COD5?

IDK, but there better be a reason that at the very least makes business sense or im gonna bite someones head off.

So Gears of War 2 and Fable 2 aren't big titles? You may not like them, but the numbers don't lie. They are big titles. Microsoft doesn't want internal competition. Its bad for business.

So are you telling me that Microsoft didn't know that GOW 2, Fable 2, ect. were going to cause "internal competition" until 7 last night. They should have realized it when they were planning the conference, months ago.... it just doesn't make sense why Microsoft would piss off people like this...

Bungie.net terms of use

Learn 'em, live 'em, love 'em. Then we can all be happy.

I'm not really too steamed, since I didn't even know that E3 was on, until I saw this fiasco unfold. Though, I don't think anything gets accidentally leaked anymore, if what people are saying about Microsoft is true.

You'll understand, of course, if I take everything with a grain of salt until I have all the information.

So you know all the factors that contributed to MS' late decision? Please, do tell. All you know is that MS pulled the plug, you can't tell why. Yes, we can infer that things that happened up to that point influenced MS, but you don't know exactly what, how, or why. All you know is that MS didn't reach that decision until that point. One cannot argue something with most of the facts missing.

Luckily, I'm a very patient man. :)

I actually don't mind about this delay. There is still plenty of time in our small lives, getting worked up about this isn't necessary. I'm with you all the way Bungie, even in times such as this.

Get WorkPLaced!!

Wow that really is bad news, worst update ever.....not because of you guys but because it was news I didn't want to hear.

Well I look forward to whatever it is you have and hopefully you will do something as cryptic as you were before the plan failed, it did make sense though, "please remain calm" and "there will be delays".

Do you have a set date we can at least be ready for?

Does it really matter if it was gonna make competition? So what? And even if they were concerned about this why not drop something else? It just doesn't make sense that Microsoft would drop the title that made the XBox, rather than some of those crappier titles they had on E3. C'mon, I doubt anybody gived a rat's ass about Banjo-Kazooie and Viva Pinata?

I think Bungie is still awsome, it was a bit of a let down when they didn't tell us but it's ok, I bet they've got something up there sleeve....or do they?

I'm sorry on your behalf because you were looking forward to this as much as we were. So there are no plans for it to be announced later this week. How come?
