shoot each other. on PoA one of the technicians repeatedly shot the ozzie marine - no enemys anywhere. for a marine, i'd say snipe the driver off a ghost while he rode on my tank treads (marines dont really do anything big/good)

Impressive? That's a new one for the Halo marines. ;) Usually you see topics about the funniest or most ridiculous things they've done. . .

Anyway, there was a time when I was driving a warthog on the level Halo with a gunner and a sniper for a passenger. I flipped and while barrel-rolling in midair, the passenger marine sniped an Elite on the other side of the area. The word "wow" came to mind when we landed.

There were other times when I would have several snipers riding on my tank who would take out my targets before I could. It was kind of annoying, but at least they weren't blowing me up with grenades or jumping in my way while driving. Lol.

I agree, Kudos to the topic creator!

On topic: On assault in the control room, when you first set foot on the ground and grab the warthog, I witnessed a marine stealing a ghost, proceeding to shot at the wraith (or the covie tank, I forget its name) and actually blow it up without getting himself killed. That was on legendary difficulty too

That's definitely impressive for a marine.

Hmmmmm . . . that reminds me of a time on AotCR when a marine took on two Hunters single-handedly. He held them off for several . . . seconds, maybe a minute. Then one hit him and sent him flying a few hundred yards away. Lol. Well, that was pretty good for a marine.

* 2 Marines jump out the way of a Plasma Grenade, I didn't see and it stuck to me.
* A Marine threw a grenade into perfect position to take out a cluster of grunts. Quite a fair distance between him and the enemy too.
* Marines doing some decent shots with the Plasma Rifle on T+R. It was helpful, instead of in the way.
* A Marine got in a Ghost and shot off to the enemy Wraith (in AotCR) and nearly blew it up (Got in smoking, then he got blown skywards).
* Really good sniper shots off the side of the Scorpion.

In playing TSC (co-op) I died from a grenade while in a worthog, but the gunner marine, however, was seen by my friend killing 3 jackals, 4 grunts and an Elite! Not to mention the fact he survived the grenade and the flipped worthog!

Dude, that was actually done by a marine? Wow! For me, the most impressive thing was when I was on the Rockside Megabattle on Legendary, my warthog got flipped, and Sargeant Johnson took out like half the guys there before he died. He was awesome. He threw a lot of really good grenades, he killed like 20 jackles, 30 grunts and like 10 elites. I was like "What the -blam!-? Damn! He's good!" It left me in awe.

The only time a marine has a sniper rifle is Sgt. Johnson , and the white Sgt. all other marines have ARs. So when yall are talking about them sniping, it was most likely a Sgt. who kicks ass.

Well, this one marine [Australian guy] survived with me in Assault on the Control room in Heroic from the point where you get the tank all the way to the point where Cortana calls in an evacuation pelican and you go inside the building, you know, where you lose the marines and don't get any more for the rest of the level. I thought that was a tough S.O.B. marine. I wanted to protect him so badly that I would just use myself as a shield for needlers and the like so he could survive. That was really cool. He ended up coming with me as far as he could. Wow.

Hah something similar happened to me, I was playing halo on legendary and u know when u get the warthog with the marine it, that guy almost survived the entire level. I mean we took out the first two parts where u have to defend the marines and he only had on red health marker! I was speechless....

No, not an exaggeration, if you had ever activated the Rockside Mega, you would know.
The Rockside Megabattle is a thing you can do on the level Halo. It's pretty easy to get, all you need to know is the steps to do it.
1. Enter the rockslide place.
2. Kill the initial wave of Covie (the ones already there.)
3. Activate the first Covie dropship.
4. Leave, despite Cortana's protests.
5. Go in a safe place, and leave your controller for about 7 minutes (maybe more, or you could go help all the other marines if you hadn't already).
6. Go back, and every dropship that drops off Covenant will have already dropped them off.

There should be a crap load of Covie there, depending on the dificulty. I've made these estimations of the amount of Covie: Easy, 75. Normal, 100. Heroic, 135. Legendary, 170. So, basically this is the ultimate SP skill builder in Halo. I do it on Legendary to train for MP matches at LAN parties. None of my friends know about it, so basically, they're too easy for me. The only way they win is if they do like a 15 on 1 game which the gametype I have no idea what it is, and they play it alot. Plus, they have the people on the same TV as me screen-watch my every move. That's the only time they win. I, on the other hand, don't screen-watch. I always tell them what gametype we're gonna play, and if they don't know what it is, I even show them the every step I used to make it.
