restart your computer, make sure you are connected to the internet and if that doesn't work, reinstall halo. If you still can't connect, you're screwed.

Its not windows. Its not that you have dial up. I found that if i restarted my comp after that message, i could connect. Run a virus/spyware/adware scanner cause they can do some pretty nasty things to your performance.

ya with AOL you have to sign in then open up Halo. Also if this only happens every so often it's cause the Gamespy service is actually down, but ya if ure using AOL i can understand, one of my friends uses it and in the middle of playing online we here the infamous words "Goodbye!" while in the middle of a game. Seriously i don't know why AOL is so popular, i find it's just awful, my friend also can't get Xbox Live because his modem won't support it, or AOL won't support it, can't remember which one was at fault though. Here in Toronto, Canada i use Rogers low cable, and other then being down like ONLY 2 TIMES every year it works like a charm, DOWN WITH AOL!!!

Heyyo,

I remember before, me bud had AOL, and he had this special aol loading program that would make it so you wouln't need the whole aol suite to connect to the internet. I found that pretty cool since aol's suite's full of junk n' slows ya comp down... pretty much why I won't EVER get aim.

AOL sucks ass. The only reason so may people use it is cause there is that trial offer on your desktop the first time you boot up.
