25-30

  • 06.25.2004 11:05 PM PDT

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

Hahahaha. Try more like in his 40's. He was in his eariler 20's back before the war began with the Covenant and was on Covert Missions against the rebel colonies. His first real misson was with Sam, Fred, Kelly, and I think Linda as well. They captured a rebel leader on a space station, (it's the smae one they visit in FS), and that was in 2525. It's now 2552. So he's about mid to late 40's.

*shrug* The Cyro tube is more of a stasis thing. It really wouldn't keep him the same age. Think, like what the Marines used during transit in ALIENS.

When the Master Chief was first approached by Dr. Halsey and Captain Keyes in Elysium City in 2517 he was six years old, which would mean he was born in 2511. The events on Halo take place in 2552 and last for a little more than three days, so that would make the MC 41 years.

Having said this though, there are no signs of him being anywhere else than at his peak, and "better today than he was yesterday". A hypothesis would be that due to the modifications made on the Spartans, they age slower and live longer than regular humans. I haven't seen anything official regarding this though.

Perhaps your co-op partner would be Linda or some-one. I heard that Halo2's co-op is going to be mor filled out, whether this means that you just see both of them in cinematics or they play a part in the story, who knows.

I'd guess he was in his 40. I think he can live for a while more than most humans. Think of him as the "Bicentinal man".

In the future humans would live longer anyway. Each generation, on average, lives longer than the last due to improved hygene, medicine technology etc. In the past people we're fortunate to reach 60, now we can beat 100. Thats a 40 year difference which in retrospect isn't a long time.
Now imagine all the advancements in 2552. I would think 150 or more for the average man is not too farfetched. Master Chief is the perfect human being so 200 is highly possible.
41 isn't an old age anymore

Yes I agree about the old age thing but the physical peak and decaying of humans have not changed. If a normal human was at 41 he would already be going "downhill" so I'm guessing MC's augmentation(spelling) has made him stay at peak for longer then usual

The only reason people live longer today is because of cleaner, and safer environments, professional health care, diet choices, etc.

The reason people would live to be about 30 back in the mideival times, is because their doctors did stupid things (Sawing people open, not using gloves or washing hands, leeches, blah blah blah)

Unless we find a way to reverse the aging process, I doubt average people will ever live past 90.

Not to mention that MC hasn't had a very "safe" environment.

So while he may be able to be "combat effective" until 60, maybe 70, it's doubtful he reaches 100+

Plus like someone above talked about the Cryo tube. That freezes your body so you would age but not Physically. Say you are 20 get cryoed for 20 years you would be 40 but would look like 20.

If it was straight math he would be 41, but there are something weird in the books, if anyone noticed, many times Keyes talksa bout seeing John/MC as a child 25 years ago but it is 2552. I remember many times having to check the date and thinking it didnt make sence. Maybe it is this " Military Calandar" that it keeps talking about in the book. Any thoughts?
