Here's the situation. I bought a licenced HALO 2 vista bundle in Rotterdam, Holland. Every time I load the level Quarantine Zone, the PC hangs up (black screen, sound stuck and so on), like as if the video card is overheated. The hardware is AMD athlon X2 4400, 2.3 GHZ, 2 gigs of RAM DDR2 and a 3870HD radeon. the cooler is set to max speed and Crysis, mass effect and other games run perfect at high settings. but HALO 2 just refuses. Also, LIVe doesn't want to see the installed patch and thus it doesn't allow me to get achievements, and they are the reason I bought the game. if anyone can help, please, tell me how to fix this.

Wow that's odd, It might be your video drivers. Are you running the catalyst drivers from the disc that came with your video card or the newest drivers?

I remember there being an issue about quarantine zone for h2v, but I don't recall any specifics. That's really all I can offer. :/

No, his video card, or drivers is not the problem. Good sir.

But yes, there is an on-going issue with Halo 2 Vista crapping-out when loading the map "Quarantine Zone" for some reason. "Some reason", meaning, I have no idea why.

But, I do remember there being a fix for this. I'm sure you can figure something out with a quick Google. There are many, many people that suffer from the same Quarantine Zone loading bug.

Wierd, I never had this problem and I was using a low grade Geforce 8400 GS back then. I have a Radeon HD 2600 PRO now so I'll try it and see what happens. If you ever have a problem with a map or something, I just save and quit (if possible) and then reset the game. I had a problem on some level, and reseting fixed it.
