I'm not disappointed, I'm bored with Bungie's nonsensical updates. I would prefer no update at all because of what they have been posting, lately.

It is, perhaps, unfortunate then that we hired the guy that forces you to come to the website and read the update every Friday at gunpoint.

Our bad. =\
Your bad indeed.

More time is never a bad thing, unless it's so long that you lose your focus. :P

I don't think I could lose focus on a Halo related tibit, heck, I'm still one of the 10 people on the planet that remembers Halo Uprising and wants the series that was due to finish BEFORE THE GAME SHIPPED to finish. But do you see me -blam!-ing about it? No, not at all ^.^

Besides, if they need time to perfect something then they should have all the time they need. Look at the difference between Halo 2 and 3 gameplay wise. One was finished in a rush (2) the other was finished with time to spare. The results speak for themselves IMO.

"Despite whatever eased into the ether regarding what we’re working on at Bungie, speculative hunches and guesswork certainly don’t tell the full tale. I’d go so far as to say these ramblings are barely even a Prologue, not even a Foreword to the storybook we’re putting together."

basically, the rumors are absolutely true. months from now the (un)surprising game reveal shows nothing more what we've already known for months.

I don't think many of you guys got all that you could out of that last paragraph. It clearly states that Bungie is working on THREE projects that we don't know about.

Project1-one is so close you can feel its familiar warmth on your cheek while you sleep
Project2-another so far off and foreign that like a faint star in deep space, you can only look to the heavens as its light speeds ever closer.
Project3-Lo, there is still another

Although I have no idea what these could all be, it makes me extremely happy to know that instead of just one project that is being worked on and having us argue over what it is, that three of our ideas could actually be correct. Just think about of all the suggestions of projects that the community has thought to be plausible, instead of one there's three. I'm thinking the squad based shooter, some new update disc for halo 3, and something else which I have no idea about.

Yeah it's great to know they are branching out. It's going to be interesting to see what they come up with after 10 year's of Halo. I wonder if any of them will be on different platform's or just on the XBox 360/PC.

Id be really interested in seeing them do another RTS game since it's my favorite genre.

yeah. spawns are worse, melees are still garbage even after the botched "fix," the br plays like garbage, the maps have been terrible (even the remake of lockout), and the games so genuinely not fun that more ppl are playing cod4 because its mp is simply better. oh wait, those are bad things. ;)

Btw, in the carnage report under assists and kills it should say how many shots didn't register.

so I thought Bungie split from Microsoft so they could be, you know, independent and do what you want. Why does Microsoft have the right to stop an announcement for your project? They can always just delay the release date of it if it's really that big of a deal, I don't see the reason for them not letting you even show it. So tell me, what DO you get to as an independent company? Whatever though, hopefully we know soon.

I like the last paragraph of the update..I think it means there will still be another game in the halo universe coming soon, then a brand new story later on....or it could be the opposite.

Unlike most of the trolls on here I liked the update. Knowing that there isn't a lot yous can say about whats going on I was not expecting as much as you shown. So there are three games in the works right now. Two that will be out in the next few years then yet another that is a long time coming. Not to mention any DLC currently being polished up.

Some weeks there just isn't much, if anything, going on, let alone things that can be spoken about. We were all hands on deck for E3, and well you know how that ended. There's a tiny nugget in here, otherwise perhaps the weekly update becomes the "sporadic update-when-things-are-happening update."

Of course updates are even harder when there's no publicly announced content to discuss.

You bastards! You killed the weekly update! Damn trolls!

now 3 projects doesn't necessarily mean 3 games. maps can be a project. so can a game. and well.....i dunno what the third one could be lol

lol exactly the wait is going to feel long whether it comes out next week or in a year, that's just how hype for good games work. :P

You gotta hate Bungie in a good way though for the suspense they always leave us in, but that's what keep's us coming back for more.

I think it would be nice to see Bungie in a fit of rage announce their game anyway. What's MS going to do drop the game? Not happening. Granted the fans of every other game would be pissed and so would the other developers not to mention MS, but if they are truely an independent developer than there isn't really anything that could be done right?

Hahaha, funny guy. Halo 2 had it's share of horrible horrible maps and spawns. Warlock? Containment? Terrible map that didn't work on 360s with lots of fog that I can't remember the name of? Foundation? The list goes on.

Oh, and COD compairsons? Real original. They are two totally DIFFERENT types of FPS games. They play nothing alike and I 100% believe that COD is more popular because people buy into the whole "realism" crap. Halo 3 is 1 million times more fun then 2 online and the BR takes more skill then 2. Is leading your weapon really that hard for you?

Rest assured, there are multiple machinations afoot at Bungie, one is so close you can feel its familiar warmth on your cheek while you sleep;creepy...

...another so far off and foreign that like a faint star in deep space, you can only look to the heavens as its light speeds ever closer. That's deep, man. *tear*

Lo, there is still another.*gasp*

Then the "big announcement" that was canceled became three... And there was much rejoicing. *Yay! Yay!*

Don't pull a Valve on us, Bungie. =P

Perhaps we should pull a Blizzard and announce multiple projects, probably years before their release? :)

p.s. I love Blizzard.

You guys should SO announce halo 10! you could go metal gear solid 4 on us and have chief armour be old and wrinkly ;P

Man, I love how they draw out stuff like this. It gets you so hyped for the next awesome thing they have. I don't think I'll ever be more hyped for anything then I was for Halo 3 thanks to the kick ass marketing campaign bungie set up.

I am sorry for your ignorance because you obviously do not know how forums work, maybe someday when you accept reality, you can take yourself off the pedestal and come into these forums. Me on the other hand will not elevate myself above other users by blatantly say I am better than you, that is not how it works. I will let my logical and developed arguments speak for me.

So basically you are telling me you would rather have a bunch if random spastic comment's than a regular setting conversation? I have not come in here to say I am better than anyone else. I have come in here expressing my annoyance's of this forum due to the lack of control coming from some people. There are people on here that I could find a lot of respect for with the way the present themselves. You can have a negative conversation without it actually being negative. THAT is how a functioning form of conversation work's. A forum is to have conversation's and debate's over subject's (note the key word "debate" not "argument".) If you think a forum is for people to come on here and yell and scream at each other then you are sadly mistaken.

I bet you anything that If I go into any one of the sub forum's on here I can find at least 10-20 topics on the first page that have at least half of the comment's in them with people yelling and cursing at each other and calling each other idiots or whatever.

Im not an elitist in no fashion, I am very humble if you get to know me. I am though very much into respectable conversation's and debate's. Everyone is capable of being respectful yet have their own opinion expressed and to choose not to really gain's you nothing.
First, do not put word in my mouth.

Second, if you want people to change their bad habits you cannot tell them to change because "you don't like it" and you cannot come off as better then them as you did. All you have to do is show them that they are wrong, and that does not always mean proving you are right. If you have a good argument then your logic will prevail and you will not have to resort to name calling and such.

Once you get a handle on how to argue a point, it will not matter that those kids in the Halo 3 Forum are wrong becuase you now have the ability to prove to them and everyone else in the thread why they are wrong...well lets just say words are the most powerful weapon on the forum if you know how to use them.

For me it comes extremely easy but you just have to know how to handle yourself.

Project 1: "One is so close you can feel it's familiar warmth on your cheek" This tells me that there doing something familiar as in the past, what could that be though? What gave us warmth? Maps? Maybe a multi player upgrades/changes?The announcement of Halo 3?

Project 2: It is definaltley a game. Hopefully a FPS based on MC and his further exploits. "So far off....." I'm guessing the release date.

Project 3: No clue either.

Only the dead have seen the end of War...Plato

Yet another grave reason why many of the communities meaningful/thoughtful/constructive thoughts lay to rest unseen by the eye of the behemoth. Overcome by some of these other pieces of -blam!- people who call themselves fans. Once again I' am let down by my fellow community and is to whom why many stray away from posting here. Last time I tried to show my love when I think it mattered most...

Hopefully there are others like me out there...

I still have faith in you guys as I've always have no matter where it takes us I will have your back. There are only a few of us who show the amount of support and is where you see who is really there for you and not someone who wants to use you. I appreciate everything you've gave us and continue to do and like the rest of us true friends stand by your actions as we ride the storm.

Anywho's thanks for the update, though it may not be what it's suppose to be or something everyone can sink their teeth into. You still showed up and gave it your best (I hope) by still giving us a nibble on the nipple. Big or small thank you for showing your concern.

For future reference if Lukems was serious about that having a Q&A which I undoubtedly know I will miss my chance. It is a question that bothers my mind and through great pressure I've endured in laying foot on posting on the forums rather than lurking I ask this.

What are the chances if at all any, of us getting an added bonus whenever this announcement reemerges? (Will there be any new information revealed other than what was already planned?)Will we be anticipating the same type of announcement that was meant this week for future use? Is it safe to say that when the time comes we will be getting the same treatment as we should have had at E3? It is something that is bothering my battered soul but after the pain and suffering we all had to endure I leave you with this...Hugs before you go?

(For future reference when breaking bad news or help easing the pain off the community try using a grunt maybe a cute kitten with some hugs. It is a scientific psychological theory I've come up with that guarantees to put a smile on.)

From ones mind and heart I leave you with this...

I was waiting, waiting for a long time
In the dark shadow of grey towers
In the dark shadow of grey towers

In the dark shadow of rain towers
You will see me waiting forever
You will see me waiting forever

One day it will come back
Over the lands, over the seas

The blue wind will return
And take back with it my wounded heart

I will be pulled away by its breath
Far away in the stream, wherever it wishes

Wherever it wishes, far away from this world
Between the sea and the stars
