I was thinking, and I'm not sure if this type of thought have been mentioned yet or not.

First of all, it is known that the Bible is tied deeply into Halo, right? We've found a lot of that true. Now then, I never realized that the human vehicles were ALL named after animals. Warthog, Scorpion, Skyhawk, etc. You'll see where I'm headed with this in a moment.

Now, we have the Covenant. Their vehicles are all named after Ghosts. Creep, Banshee, Wraith, etc. So, how does this tie into the bible? Let's think of Noa's Ark.

We have the Flood, we have the Animals, but do these ghosts fit in? And what about the forerunner? I feel that there might be several connections here, but individuals like you are better at speculating things more than me.

Yes, I agree that Noa's ark is a lot like Halo's scenario. Halo is like the ark, carrying the animals away from danger....The Flood. Carrying away from danger as in if the Flood gets out of control, Halo(The ark) can destroy the Flood.(Thus protecting the animals from the Flood) But who knows.....?

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

I say a little. Those things DO fit in, but I think its just clever little references, and not actually part of the story line. There's something behind John 117 as well (I think its John 1:17... I saw that at HBO somewhere)...

I'm not relating it to real-life theories and such as I did recently. This is relationship to the Bible. Quite common for these two to be put together to see if there are connections.

as i said...i'm just puting my 2 cents in, i don't have nothing against ur "belefs" or thoughts, and the guy that wrote the whole story line, might of been very religius...
whay don't we ask him, does anybody know his e-mail, i would love to ask him what he meant, and what he related to halo's story.....

Eh, I don't think Bungie will give you the low-down of their storyline. LOL.

After the Flood is over, God makes a Covenant with man that he would never Flood the earth again. Any coincidence with naming? And for a lot of Halo story speculation, visit http://halo.bungie.org/story. They have the best archive of Halo story tidbits, that should take you quite a while to digest. And there are plenty of people who have analyzed the connection between the Bible and Halo. You just have to dig a little to find it all. Or do what I did and read every word of it.

Man...either you can't see the tags between Halo, the Bible, and real life because you're not looking hard enough, or you're just to stupid to realize them right under your nose. There are ties between it all. As me and Serpx have discussed in other threads, and with each other. Read a few, and you will come to believe everything that is being said.

Heh. Tic tac toe, three of the same Elite avatars in a row.

Sorry about that... couldn't resist.

Anyhow, yeah, Bungie won't give you their secrets unless you find some way to work for them.

Here is a connection to the Bible that has to do with Spartans. I recently found this in my Bible.....In Mark chapter 3, Jesus appoints the twelve apostles.

verse 17: James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them [Jesus] gave the name Boanerges, which means Sons of Thunder)

Let's play a game of "Six Degrees of Mjolnir": John and James--Boanerges--Thunder--Thor--Mjolnir! (Don't forget, the Twelve Apostles were appointed to "drive out demons"...or perhaps the Covenant?)

More will come as I scan through the books of the disciples and apostles.

Just thought I should point this out: All of this isn't news. Everything that has been posted on this topic has been said at HBO. I personally don't have a problem rereading it (I enjoy it, in fact), but I know there are people in this Forum that do mind. Just be cautious when posting some things.

I recommend looking through HBO storyline databases... read through most if not all of it when you get the time..... it DOES take a long time, though. And this is not an advertisement... just advice.

You could look at it this way: There's so much going on in the bible that anything could be a reference if you just found the right spot to fit it in. I mean, I 've even read a theory that the cat in the hat tied into the bible and that the wizard of oz was really about a young girls experimentation with group sex. They make perfect sence when you read them, but obviously not what ther creaters had in mind.

I thinks it is more likely that there are inspirations here and there, but I doubt your thoery.
Starwars, however, is based on ancient myths and legends. There's even a book about it called "Star Wars: The Magic of Myth" which goes into quite some detail about where Lucas drew his inspiration.

Then again, that's just me.

By the way: Has anyone else read that cat in the hat explanation with the cat juggleing the books of the Bible and so on?

Star Wars - A New Hope is also heavily influenced by an Akira Kurosawa film called "The Hidden Fortress" - Sorry to get a bit off topic though.

I think connections with the bible in Halo are more little influences and homage's rather than a re-imagining of major sections of the bible.

Bungie may have gotten the names of some characters and places from the Bible, like Covenant, Flood, Halo; but I don't think that they got the entire plot idea from the Bible, it doesn't fit too well.

Subject: Halo Theories -- and here's one for everyone to think on.

I always look upon these Halo-Bible theories day after day. You know what I see? I see people drawing conclusions that are not really there. An accident being called fact.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

I wouldn't exactly call it an accident (since when is something Bungie-related an accident... no offense, Barron). Nor would I say its of any significance. Just simple references Bungie probably put into there as just an extra little interesting dohickey. Nothing to be concerned about. I wouldn't look into this too much.

Not true, by the way, the longsword fighter is not named after an animal.
