Well, I've been thinking about buying Halo CE for awhile now. I have one question though. Should I buy it for PC or 360?

Depends what you're itnerested in. If you want a great, consistent Campaign experience, the 360 is the way to go, as Halo CE is only $10-15 new at EBGames/GameStop. Only reliable multiplayer I am aware of is XBOXConnect.

Halo PC might have a slightly inconsistent Campaign, but it does have solid multiplayer action with hundreds-thousands of players, last time I checked. There's also Halo Custom Edition for making your own maps and playing others', such as my favorite, "Engine Room 2.0", which is Marines vs. Flood epic battle in the PoA Engine room.

Either choice is good, but it depends on your personal tastes.

Wait, how is the PC's campaign inconsistent? The last time I checked, they were the same. :/

Yes, but you need a really good gaming PC to keep it from freezing occasionally. PC Games take up a lot of processing power to render all the graphics and various other things. MY XP Home Edition, when brand new, slowed down substantially when I set Campaign details to "Medium", with things like bullet holes, blood, and smoke all turned off.

Download the 130MB Halo PC demo and try it on your PC first.

If your PC can run this game then I'd definitely recommend the PC version over the Xbox version. It's the only version of the game that supports online multiplayer and to this day there are still tons of servers and players even in the demo. The Xbox version has a workaround to go online but the insane lag you'll have to put up with doesn't make it worthwhile. Plus the number of players you'll find online on the Xbox will probably never exceed what you can count with one hand.

Ah, now I see what you mean. I have to turn off the reflections because my laptop can't handle shiny things or as seen in this video, new lighting techniques in Portal. Turning it off brings my frames per second from 5 up to the max, 30. Curse you intel graphics!!!

I have been playing on PC from the start. I bought Halo PC, played it, loved it, then bought Halo 2 PC. H2 Vista is an awesome game, but the computer I ran it on was junk so it is not a very good experience. I finished Halo 2 PC at which point I bought an Xbox 360 to play Halo 3.

So, forgetting about my whole story, I still play Halo PC more that Halo 2 or 3. It's easy for me to boot up and play. I've probably played through campaign 25 times now.

Okay, I just bought Halo for Xbox 360 so I could get a better campaign experience, but if you really want my advice, buy both.

somewhere in the heavens...they are waiting. I love the Marathon Trilogy.
Halo CE will always be the best game in the Halo franchise. What a perfect game.

I like the xbox version more becasue althoguh the multiplayer is great on the PC, I still play it, the campaign runs poorly on my computer that has double the specifications, but still runs slow, plus Halo CE on Xbox looks great next to Halo 2 and 3.

It's the X-Box's prize game. It saved the X-Box, of course it would work!

I'd say do both mate. No reason not to. You can do some crazy mods on PC, and on 360 you can play it on a console with your friends when they're over.
