Well it dosent all depend on your vid card. you need a good CPU aswell. I'm guessing that you have a pentium 4. Do you know what type of P4 it is? and also how many gigahz does your comp have, and is it duron or celeron

I'm certifiable.

I have the 9600 Pro, and Halo runs like a dream at 800x600 and only runs into trouble during big indoor battles at 1024x768.

(I'm surprised you got it to work on a 32mb card, actually. I'm guessing that the rest of your system is doing some pretty hard work to compensate.)

You should notice an improvement in both graphics and gameplay with the more powerful card.

It is wise to not pick any card that has the "SE" labeled in the back of it. You should get anything from a Radeon 9600 XT and up.

well, considering you can grab the 9600SE for 100cdn... it will work fine (hell, i run halopc with my 9200se). I run everything as low as possible, but i get pings of 67 and my timedemo is at 31fps. Of course, you can always oc it quite a bit (go to the rage3d.com forums, there is a huge thread about the 9600se).
