I know that almost all games that I love to play over and over again have little things to play around with. I don't feel like giving any examples because I am being lazy right now. But...
Here are some small ideas for Halo 2 that would add a nice touch to the game:
GRAPHICS
-Rear view mirrors on warthogs
-A radio for the warthog
-Reflections in the water
-Waves
-Reflections in MC's faceplate (for multiplayer)
-Swaying grass
-Weather changes
-Being able to see MC's feet!
-And one more. I've had this idea in my head for a long time, and I've never really told anyone. But what about if you get hit by a heavy weapon (rocket launcher, grenade, tank, etc.), that when die you get decapitated. Followed by the screen spinning around for a while and then the head landing in a way that you can see the (headless) body. This may not be completely realistic in that an explosion would probably mess up more then just your head, but I think it would be a nice effect.
GAMEPLAY and PRESENTATION
-Being able to ride the waves (mentioned above)
-Hearing MC breathing when running
-During quiet times, being able to listen to the marines tell jokes
-More clever trash talk from marines after they kill something
-And finally, the effects of different weather (mentioned above). For example, alot of wind would cause the grass and trees to sway back and forth. Rain would make little drops of water drip down MC's faceplate. Snow would make it harder to run. etc etc.
If you think of anymore ideas let me know.
