Geth, the Borg have been sighted near your planet, do you need aid against their overwhelming numbers?

Doesn't it say in the rules that all new comers have 5 turn protection in tell they can be attacked?

I've had 5 turns now. Plus, I decided against the "noob-shield", it seemed a bit unfair considering the amount of force I was bringing to the table from the start.

Well, he was previously the Scrin, if you want to count that. He also was the one who attacked first, thus voiding the 5-turn protection

The Borg warfleet divides into three parallel rows: the Tactical Cubes form a frontline facing the Rebel Aliens fleet, behind which are arranged the line of Cubes and the line of Spheres.

The Tactical Cubes open with a volley of disruptor fire into the heart of the Rebel Aliens fleet.

Our Refractor Shield Ships put of a bubble shield to stop the first volley.

Planetary Assault Fighters take flight and fire at borg ships with electrical impulse explosion lasers, the equivalent of a MOAB detonation. They also prepare to activate their DiTriDiamond teleporters to get back behind the bubble shield at the first return fire.

  • 08.01.2008 5:13 PM PDT

The Borg warfleet, underestimating the power of the Rebel Aliens' refractor shielding, pays for its misspent opening salvo: two Tactical Cubes are instantly destroyed, one more is critically damaged, and three suffer hull breaches.

The second row of Cubes moves "upwards" from its position behind the Tactical Cubes frontline, and launches a full devestating volley of photon torpedoes at the Refractor Shield - enough firepower to destroy a continent. The Spheres move into position behind the Tactical Cubes, occupying the Cubes' former position. The Tactical Cubes calculate target vectors against the Rebel Aliens' Planetary Assault Fighters, holding fire until the Refractor Shield drops.

The Spheres move into position behind the Tactical Cubes, occupying the Cubes' former position. The Tactical Cubes calculate target vectors against the Rebel Aliens' Planetary Assault Fighters, holding fire until the Refractor Shield drops.

The second volley of attack comes. Heavy Attack Galleys launch a barrage of EMP shots, doing no physical damage, but disrupts all electrical circuits. The Refractor Shield Ships charge for another shield, at a different frequency.

The EMP barrage dissipates over the Borg crafts' shields - instantly shutting down all shields throughout the fleet, but leaving weaponry mostly unaffected.

The Tactical Cubes fire numerous rotations of heavy phaser fire at the Planetary Assault Fighters, targeting weapons systems. The Spheres do so against the Heavy Attack Galleys, targeting power supplies - though doing substantially less damage due to the crafts' relative size and power. The Cube phalanx, recharging from the torpedo volley and reeling from the EMP blast, cycle their impulse engines and remodulate shielding.

It seems as if they are focusing on the Rebel Aliens for now but assistance will be needed in the future. For now I am going to have my fleet above P6 return to P2. I am also going to have to suggest that the Hanchex and Axis put aside their differences to take care of the Borg menace.

My fleet will return in 1 turn.

Now the planetary Defense Carriers at extreme range come out of hiding behind the borg fleet, launching an attack at their flanks. Their beam shots easily burn through all known metals since it is also partially in another dimension. Their electrical coils zap the frontal ships without shields into an EMP shock, disabling movement for a while.

This task force concentrates its efforts, in the meantime, on adapting to both the offensive and defensive capabilities of the Rebel Aliens' ships.

The refractor shield ships move behind the planet, out of the way of fire.
It is now that the attack force from the ground launches strike, boarding the first 3 craft, killing many. (The Brown Goblins' hands can morph to any weapon or tool they need. There is no way to adapt to it) (The Valkalry Spiders are completely made out of Pure Hardened DiTriDiamond. A material 30 times harder than earth diamond, and they fight physically with scythes.) (Grunt standard issue guns have 8 firing modes, taking longer to adapt to with the differences)

In space, the reconstruction Drone Ships go around repairing damage to all vessels, the main hub of them staying out of range, but the mini repair ships go in.

Come on now, there's no way that all of the Refractor ships could've got behind the planet that quickly and completely unscathed. Regardless:

The Borg Spheres boarded by the ground assault force lose many Drones, but eventually remove the threat, using the assimilated infantry to replace any lost workforce. Furthermore, the assimilation of the Rebel Aliens' forces also grants the Borg knowledge of much of the Rebel Aliens' technology - shields and weaponry are being adapted for the Collective, and when complete will greatly augment the Borg's effectiveness offensively and defensively against the Rebel Aliens.

The primary task force continues to damage the heart of the Rebel Aliens' fleet with disruptor and heavy phaser fire. The Cubes also board several damaged Planetary Assault Fighers and proceed to assimilate the crewmen and vessels - done in 2 turns.

The secondary task force, moving up on the smaller Rebel Aliens contingent of ships, also launch several boarding parties on the Planetary Defence Carriers - assimilation will be complete in 2 turns.

Door: you should start to post some sort of losses. There's bound to be something lost, or at least damaged, at this stage of the combat.
