Hey. I've currently been waiting for three months for an ATI card: the Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition (256MB). I've probably got two more months to wait (I ordered directly from ATI rather than buying from third party designers). Should I instead buy Visiontek's version of this card (however non-platinum) and lose the wait?

just the fact that ure getting that card is awesome. I would wait a long time for it, however i wouldn't wait TOO long, the way with graphics cards is, is that if you wait tooo long to get it, it'll be out of date by the time u get it :) j/k, just try a big retailer (Best Buy, in the U.S, Circuit City) or ya order from the other guys if there isn't a HUGE difference in performance on the card.

I have a Sapphire X850XT. I have only heard the name Visiontech, haven't heard if they make good cards, but look for Gigabyte, Sapphire, Asus, etc. They make great ATi cards. So does HIS, but those are really expensive.

Ge the non-PE. PE is just overpriced. all you get is an overclocked XT version. Order the card from zipzoomfly.com and get free 2-day shipping, but newegg.com has some better deals, occasionally.

Instead of getting an X800 XT PE (or was it just X800 PE?) just buy an X850 XT, it's probably just as expensive but it'll be better. The PE probably just looks cooler or something, I dunno cuz I've never seen a PE card.

Heyyo,

it goes x800, then xt, then xt pe. Each one's better than the last. The preformance gaps between them aren't monumental, so I'd suggest just going for the one with the best price to framerate ratio.

I think the formula's:

Price / Framerate = Ratio.

Usually you wanna do this onna few games and get the average. Average is this:

Ratio + other ratio's / amount of ratios.

Heh, math comes in handy in practical computer use. ;)
