AotCR is a level we can relate to in the world today. Its a simple frontal assault on a building that is guarded by hundreds of Alien enemies. This is what we see in movies and in the news all the time. It is a very DDayish level that includes all the aspects we love about halo. Vehicle support, head-first assaults against Alien hordes, and all types of weapons and technologies to exploit.

Im just wondering if everybody agrees or disagrees with me. If you agree tell why if not tell why and include wich level you do think is best and why.Thanks.

yeah it kinda does. I think at the start of the Silent Cartographer is alot like Omaha Beach only with less enemies.

Here's some reasons:
* Great mixture of outdoor and indoor gameplay
* The only chance you get to kick some Covenant butt with the Scorpion tank
* Most Covenant (572, that includes absolutely everything Covenant on the level).
* Variety of weapons (everything but the shotgun to use, and Grunt Fuel Rod Gun to face).* Ferrying Marines around in Warthog or on Scorpion
* Freezing Marines and blowing them skyhigh with Plasma 'nades and Needler.
* Secret Banshee
* Climbing down the chasm wall in Single or Co-op
* Going through the end door to kill un-AI Covenant
* Smashing your way into the corridor glass using a Shadow Turret
* Stealing a Banshee from the natural bridge
* Jumping between the 2 bridges near the end
* The vehicles enemies have, there's loads.
* The general layout and setting of the whole level

One thing that annoys me about AotCR is that although the tank is nice, I personally find it much easier, and quicker, to use the WartHog throughout the whole level. Instead of killing all of the covenant, wipe a few of them out by driving through them and continue on. Saves a hell of a lot of time.

- Yolego, who still thinks that the tank is fun to drive

whoever said it was easier to drive the warthog around is right but i think using the Scorpion is a lot more interesting and you get to eradicate the entire Covenant threat.

It really depends how you like to play the Game. I, personally, prefer to eradicate as few Covenant as necessary and continue on to my objective. I also like to save as many marines as I can. Sometimes this means eradicating more Covenant, which is ok. But I try to stay focused on the mission objectives.

If you were trying to remove all Covenant from a given area, I can easily see how the Scorpion would be more effecient at accomplishing that.

Of course, the thing we all love about Halo is there is no right or wrong way to play it! There must be a million different ways to get past each little section: You could wake up all the Covenant and shell 'nades into their rears, you could stealthily go around and bash each of their little brains in, you could run past them all, AR blazing, hoping to make it to the exit in one piece... and all of these are fun in their own way.

Blam, Halo is awesome.

100% with you there.

Some like to do levels really quickly, some like to take their time and some like to do a mixture of both.

I agree with you 100%, but i gotta ask, where is the secret banshee at. I know of the 2 on the bridge but what bout the other one???

Explaining briefly, it is on a platform above the chasm before you go into the tunnels (just after you pick up the tank. Looking at it from a Two Betrayals perspective, it is the platform to the last generator that you take out.

On AotCR the banshee you want attacks you as you head towards the tunnel entrance. Basically you need to blow the banshee off the platform before the Elite gets inside. The way to do this is quite complex and will take a bit of explaining.

I think it would be easier for you to click this link . Download 'Video Banshee Tutorial' and it shows you how.

This level can be fun at first, but it eventually gets a little repetitive.

Now, a really fun level to play would be the Library. Jumping into a crowd of zombies as they continue to shoot in the direction you were coming from and blowing them down limb by limb with a shotgun, then taking out a carrier flood with a pistol and watching another crowd get blown to pieces is awesome, especially on Legendary because then you get more ammunition for your shotgun. :D

To me, the size of the level is like a reflection of the size of the conflict that the Covenant War is. It gives me a greater sense of purpose, that, although I'm only one person in this vast level, fighting against hordes of Covenant, I know I'm making a difference. Whether I'm saving that one marine from being blown up from a grunt with a needler or just simply completing my mission objectives, I suppose what I'm getting at is the sense of purpose that the level gives. That and the level actually looks good, in my opinion. =)

I like The Secret Cartographer so much I cant stop playing it!
Its very Saving Private ryan or as some others say D-Dayish. But if we look at the similarities.. well there are few.

1. A beach
2. Delivers you into action as soon as you land.

+Here are the Major Differences+

1. Its not fortified!
2. There are no Mines in the beach
3. Only 2 pelican Drop Ship.
4. No sea Wall to get past
5. ABout 8-12 Marines
6. Obviously, its about 500 years into the future.. it hink.
7. No Super Soldier!

I just had an interesting idea for a mod to the game... I'm not any expert at modding, I know next to nothing about it, but what if someone managed to import a WartHog into The Library?

Of course, there is those several places where you have to go down the hallways... but they could have another hog stationed at the end of the hallway. Blam, that would be fun. Just run over hordes of mindless zombies.

And on co-op... w00t! You could gun-em-up too!

Agreed! That is an extremely terrible idea. The whole idea of the game is a noble undertaking of the one man(spartan) that can save the human race is under your control. Running over hordes of "zombies" is something you should do in a horror game not Halo. The art of shooting down parasitic aliens threatning you and all humanity is something all true halo gamers live for.
