I'm pretty sure this might have been mentioned before (a long time before), but since i havn't seen anything like this on here lately, i might aswell let the 'new' members since then have a chance to read it.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to set the time of day you play on a multiplayer map. Like, you could have a little option at the start of each game asking what time you would like it set too. Then, we could have night battles with the bump-mapping really shining when a worthog runs by it. Or you could have a mid-morning battle with the sun blinding your eyes.

That is a good idea man. Maybe we should have a similar option for weather as well.....

I love the idea. It would also be cool if the game progressed through the day. It would be hard getting people to play for hours on end, but would still be cool.

Yes you could have these settings
Default - for quick games and uses bungies best recommendation for the map.
Real Time - as the day changes from morning to night in the real world so does in in halo 2, using the internal xbox clock.
Custom - change everything from light, time of day and weather to have a really unique experience.
If this isn't in Halo 2 it should be in the next Bungie FPS don't you think?

I'm not sure about the 'Real Time' one. Everybody would have different times. Unless it was to run under the host's time then yeah.

Its a great idea and all...but not very likely.....first of all thats a ton of specs being eaten up by adding all those effects...more then likely your game would run about as fast as molassass or however you spell it...and second...if it was real time...what happens if say i play you zamamee? you're in england and im in the states....whos time would it go by? the hosts? dont get me wrong....i love the idea..just not very likely
