Right now we Marafans (or PFHANS!!!) are like the 9 Mjolnir cyborgs, living among the other forumers...

Definitely no. And I'll tell you why (By the way, when you want to add something to your post use the edit button, the moderators are bloodthirsty beasts who love to lock stuff :) )

If Marathon had it's own forum a month ago, I would never have even been exposed to it. Well not to the extent I am now at any rate. I found it as a curiousity, and now play it often in my off time. But I came here as many of the newer members did on a Halo oriented expedition.

So if you are thinking in terms of fairness, yes it deserves it's own forum on here, but the move would likely kill the new interest in it....That wouldn't be fair to anyone, least of all the Bungie Veterans who would sit in the Marathon Forum all day and start calling the rest of us "good for nothin' kids what don't know our ass from our elbow"

Very true. The reason I'm not for a Marathon forum is because it wouldn't be active. I can bet ya right now. Because really, there are few people currently new to Marathon, and therefore not too many people to be inclined to talk about it all too much. I mean, people have mulled over Marathon of a decade plus now, I'm not exactly sure too many people would mull over it more rather than talk about something else. Plus, it's just another forum mods have to move posts in and out of.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

I voted maybe but I change it to no.

SizzableSSonic, please don't bump your posts, it goes against the rules and you have an edit button for a reason.

And at any rate, the Underground will do just fine. Sure there are a lot of new people that only want to talk Halo, Halo, Halo, but Marathon pretty much started Halo. Start discussions about it and get the new members turned onto it. Then you will have started something.

I think it should have it's own forum simply because grouping Marathon and Halo topics together sucks, since Halo is a blatant Microsoft ripoff of Marathon.

  • 06.28.2004 12:21 PM PDT

Marathon and Halo topics aren't grouped together. And Halo is a BUNGIE rip-off of Marathon ;-)

Have you seen the Underground's description?
Let me break it down:

Thanks for the suggestion!

The Underground is the best place to discuss Marathon. Technically there's not a whole lot of other topics going on there (if you don't count the Halo 2 threads which technically don't belong). If Marathon were to be stripped away, the Underground would most likely crumble and the Marathon forum would inevitably be rather quiet. It's always possible that someday we might grow and evolve and it becomes necessary but for now I think The Underground will suffice.

Also, once we eventually get forum searching and some additional features it should make it easier to find the threads you're interested in. =)
