it would be nice to see a couple of marines using a mortar or on a buliding with a rocket launcher, one loads, one fire's. now marines can drive. they should act more like real soldiers. rather then just running around and throwing nades at random.

anyone else got any marine related ideas

There aren't any female marines, however you do get female pilots e.g Foe-Hammer (not sure bout spelling)

Doubt you'll see them introduced in Halo 2, however, there's always the possibility of civilians who have taken up arms.

In the 2003 E3 demo single player movie theres the marines giving each other covering fire, a sniper and a spotter, and also the guy who gives the MC the SMG who was targeting the Covenant artillery piece who's team mate had been killed. There was also the group of marines attacking the Covenant in the ruins part where they covered you and through in the grenade...ok alot of that was scripted, but alot of it also seemed very natural in play. Can't wait to see for real come Nov :)

you spelled Foehammer right.
Have any of you ever see Starship Troopers, though?
Remember that it was set in the same time period as Halo/Halo 2 (assuming that "Military Calender = Anno Domini), and that a large proportion of the military foot soldiers were female.
Actually, about half of them are.
So...Bungie...whatever happened to gender equality?
edit: WE WANT TITTIES.
Civilian would also be cool too...yeah.

Yeah i suppose the books were going on about how the sniper teams are always in pairs, ('cept Linda cuz she's amazing)

i suppose we can always hope... doubt they'd miss something like this out though.

I just hope that we don't have to order them around, if i want that, i'll go play a Tom Clancey...

i wonder how squad communication will be. like between squads. and if marines will refuse to do stuff.

theres the thing about marines calling in hog support, i hope they dont do this all the time - parts of the game could get to easy.

that would probably be a scripted event.
i mean, if the marines were programmed (i'm thinking in terms of game design now, obviously) to "Call in heavy weapons support when in trouble", everytime the marines started getting gangbanged by the Covenant, or whatever else you're fighting at the time, and called in 'hog support, that could cause some weird errors to occur.
Example: let's say the Marines were getting gangbanged in an underground cave....where would the 'hog even come from?
food for thought, and ive forgotten what the original topic was.

well i guess it would be scripted so they wouldnt call in hog support under ground (unless possible), and i guess it would have to be a bad 'gangbang' like 6 elites with jackal and grunt support.

back on topic. machine gun weapon teams would be nice.
