I think Bungie has made a good choice. Changing rank system by dividing them separetly is quite good. If someone is a General in team Slayer, then he'll be returning pretty fast to his rank, but if his experience lies only on team slayer and not on any other type, then he should be place as a recruit in this one.
Some gametypes are base on gunning down enemies, some are tactical one, if you think, your true skill is as general in every types, its fine, but prove it to everyone, and then you'll become the '' Juggernaut General '' that can beat everyone in every game type, not only on one that you spend months... this is no overall skills.
So, if you want to prove that you're a true general, (I'm not), don't yell at Bungie that announce a new way to rank their gametypes. Just show them that you're able to reach the top again.
Continue playing halo 3, testing the AU, posting on the forum and reading their weekly update help them to reach us as the community and them to get enthusiasm as to create some new stuff for us to be happy to play with! So don't screw it all, it's not even on and some are already sure it'll suck. Does anybody has ever been irritated by a release made by Bungie (except for the announcement thing recently) ? I think the only thing they ask is us to test it, then post comment on its good or bad sides.
I'm not some hardcore gamer, and still I find the AU2 pretty cool ! I like to know where my weakness are, don't you? We become stronger when we practice on our weak points.
in addition to all i've said, this AU2 can only lengthen the gameplay of Halo 3 by dividing the rank for every gametypes, and combining them for a result of all your skill points (of all gametype). It's still the same, and not at the same time, as Lukems wrote it, you'll still have all your skill points (no reset).
here an exemple :
-Hey look at the noob, he got a gunnery sergent grade, we'll beat him for sure!
-Crazy fool, look at your skill points, and look who's gonna die first!
*loud squawk*
Then you'll see that it won't change anything, you'll continue to pawn noobs as always.
It's all I have to say about it, well i'm sure no one will read this anyway, cause it's too long, but I hate it when people say certain things when they don't know what they are talking about.
Good games anyone, hope you'll change your mind on this (if you think your not gonna like it).
SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH, I'M FROM QUEBEC, CANADA, AND I SPEAK FRENCH.
Anyway, Bungie still kick ass for us even after releasing a Killer games as Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2 and Halo 3 (Finish The Fight).
