About 1Q of the stuff I read in here was made up and never said by bugnie or a magazine that could be beleivable. Dont say stuff you dont know please. Such as saying that elite weapon has a zoom or that there will be a shadow or a user controlled big ass covvie turret.
Who ever said u will die if the vech is going to fast when u jump onto the vech. And just because the image was saved as burial mounds doesnt mean its the mp lvl name. I didnt even read all of this because u where making stuff up. Also u made up some of the duel wielding stuff, like duel plas pistols and duel plas rifles and no meleeing with duel weps and no gerande with duel wep and that u HOLD B to make combos tat was never confirmed.

It really pisses me off when people make stuff up. Then other idiots beleive itand spread it to the other idiots.

I hope you are joking.

In reply to the topic, there are some flaws in your list. As well as some things not confirmed, example would be that no where have I read that pressing x will be the way to hijack vehicles, nor that you will be able to shoot or throw a plasma nade at the driver. If you watch the e3 demo when the chief jumps on the ghost, his guns disapear.

Well, they never said they were not going to make new versions of them. And I have seen every halo 2 screen on the net and none show the sniper or the shotgun. So no, I'm not joking.

Ummm wrong. You obviously haven't seen every picture on the net. There is a picture at this very site, actually it was released when the site opened, that shows the shotgun. Also there are scans from the GI article all over the net that shows the sniper. You are not looking hard enough.

E3 2003 - At the beginning two marines are scouting, one has a sniper rifle, also, in the pelican the ODST marine put a clip into a sniper rifle as well.

Second Multiplayer Screenshot - the dead blue spartan dropped a sniper rifle

Third Multiplayer Screenshot - The guy on the left has/had a shotgun (you can clearly see it)

GI article - gives you a very close up shot of the sniper rifle

You forgot that all old weapons will return, some with slight new changes. This includes the MA5B and the M6D, read the Halo 2 Exclusive issue of OXM, it is the E3 one from last year. And it clearly states that all of the old weapons are returning with the new.

Hikaru, that is why I said Confirmed by screenshots. ;)

Bring the Noise, you need to find some chat transcripts for the vehicle boarding thing, there might be some around the net. But I know that Jaime Griesemer said you could do those things to the driver of the vehicle.

where did the controls and specifications for the sprinting come from? i know sprinting will be in the game, but where did you get information that it would only be in a straight line and hitting any button will knock you out of sprint?

also, here's another list of confirmed stuff that includes things not already mentioned on this thread:

• New armor: Mjolnir mark VI (shown below)
• Role-specific mounted weapons: AA turrets, etc.
• More anti-armor weapons, for both Humanity and Covenant
• Plasma swords can be used
• At least twice the number of pilotable vehicles as Halo:CE
• Covenant siege artillery from E3 demo is usable
• New Covenant dropship: Phantom - has energy shield
• New Covenant land transport: Creep - turret and vehicle are independently destructible
• New Covenant assault vehicle: Shadow - seats 4: driver, gunner, 2 passengers
• New Human vehicle: ATV, no mounted weapons, can only use one handed weapons, faster then the Ghost
• Scorpion MBT can now aim and drive in different directions: effectively a strafe
• Warthog variations: different weapon mounts, different purposes - chainguns, rockets, etc.
• Pelicans are now armed, have landing gear instead of just hovering, and a -blam!-pit with pilot and co-pilot
• Wraith mortar tank is now pilotable
• Can exchange weapons with Marines
• Different weapons do different melee damage: blades most powerful
• MC and AI can flip objects, like tables, for cover
• Some AI can climb walls, pillars, ladders, and other such objects: Brutes, Elites, etc.
• AI has very advanced pathfinding ability: agile units like Elites will jump, duck, climb, etc. to get through an area, stronger units like Hunters will plow through when possible
• Characters will actually "think" to perform an action, instead of a standard scripting algorithm: resulting in more intelligent combat
• Characters can now call out threats, and ask for assistance: counter-sniping, vehicle support, etc.
• Can recognize the quality of their cover, and their enemies cover, and act accordingly
• Marines now act as a squad and help each other
• Marines can now pilot vehicles other then the Ghost, and rather well
• Marines come together to tip over heavy objects for cover, or to flip a vehicle
• Marines will now use real-world battle techniques
• Far more advanced terrain awareness: threats, cover, elevation, etc.
• Higher ranking soldiers give orders, lower ranking actually follow those orders
• More Covenant can pilot vehicles: Grunts, Brutes, etc.
• Covenant will have enhanced animalistic behavior
• Dropships are now piloted by AI, and are no longer scripted events, and will react to the enemy: drop troops at a pathway box in threat, etc.
• Will use flashlights to hunt in the dark
• Will be far better opportunists: flanking, moving to better positions, etc.
• Will be able to set "traps" for enemies: ambushes, etc.
o Different objects have different defensive quality, and will last only so long under fire
o All lights can be destroyed, to induce total darkness in contained areas
o Levels will be much more fluid and dymanic to greatly enhance replay
o Missions will have multiple paths to take
o Minimal repetition: no Library-like levels
o Virtually all objects can be destroyed
o New arenas of play: cities, etc.
o Much larger battlefields
o Game will have far greater replay value due to advanced AI, more random events, level setups, etc.
o Battles will be much more difficult due to advanced AI, and greater enemy abilities
o Battles will have many more characters and vehicles involved at once
o Firefights will be much longer due to more advanced AI, etc.
o Stealth can be used as little or as much as wanted
o All weapons and pilotable vehicles usable in the campaign can be used: including turrets and flying vehicles
o All abilities carry over from campaign
o Xbox Live
o All loose models can be moved by pushing, or propelled by weapons to create cover, or to move it out of the way: rocks, burned-out cars, etc.
o Objects have a better concept of "wieght": react more realistically to explosions, etc.
o Totally re-written physics engine
o Inverse kinematics are being used on the arms and legs, feet and other areas, forward kinematics are being used for the spine, neck, head and wrists and toes for enhanced movement realism
o New self-lighting engine: all models cast shadows on themselves, and all other models
o New bump-mapping engine: allows for almost unprecedented gameplay detail
o Models can now have hanging objects attached that move like they should: grenades dangling from a bandoleer, etc.
o Characters will have far more articulation: Elites with moving mandibles, etc.
o Objects and vehicles will take far more realistic damage
o All characters will have far more animations, granting them far more and real-looking abilities
o More musical purpose: does better to convey the feeling of the specific moment, and changes depending upon choices made, etc.
o Dynamic sound, based on environment: sounds echo off ice walls differently, etc.
o Details about Covenant history and relations will be heavy in the story
o Most of the plot will be conveyed through in-game dialog, instead of mostly between-level cinematic
o Another Halo will be involved
o First few levels will deal with saving Earth itself
o Counter-offensive against Covenant in later levels
o Game will end with a sense of closure
o Will not be released on any other consoles, and no PC/MAC port has been planned.
o Remaining time is being used to polish all aspects of the game, all graphics will look far better then any screenshot currently in circulation, etc.
o Flame-thrower will be included if Bungie can write a program that allows objects to catch fire
o Facial expressions of voice actors are being recorded and animated on the characters for far more realistic speach
o MC’s face will not be seen
o Release date unknown

some of this stuff may not be exactly right, but i'm 95% sure.

Maybe, I haven't read that article but I have to say that I'd be suprised if the M6D returned. For a start it's kind of made redundent by the Battle Rifle, and secondly this passage from Halo: First Strike gives details of a new human pistol:

Page 132 - 133 Halo: First Strike

Fred peered inside and saw a rack of handguns. They weren't the standard-issue HE pistols; these had oversized barrels - easily 30 percent larger and longer - and they had grips of self-molding plastasteel. He picked one up and hefted it - its balance was barrel-heavy, to be expected from an unloaded pistol. He found three boxes of clips at the bottom of the locker, opened one, and took out a clip. Whatever this new handgun shot, it was high caliber, slugs the size of his thumb. He slid the clip into the gun, and it secured with a satisfying click.

Now it was perfectly balanced, far better than the standard-issue sidearm.

That is from the part where the new Battle Rifle is introduced as well.
A high-caliber Magnum Pistol? Sounds like a Brute killer to me :)

Well it wouldn't be that lame Billiam, it'd be decent, still lame, but not totally lame. I wouldn't mind -blam!-ing up some Elites with it, slice open their arm, etc.

Also I'm pretty sure that it has been confirmed that we will not be able to pilot the pelican.

Never seen where you won't be able to shoot while leaning. That would be stupid.

Havoc one of the bungie weekly updates said that there will be a covenant weapon with zoon capabilities. Seeing as the elites are carrying the only guns that look possible of zooming it's most likely that is the gun. Oh and you can't throw nades with dual weapons, that was confirmed as well.
