Hey Guys; I think you are doing an amazing job with keeping things rolling along, and most certainly with fixing some of the glitches. Honestly though, I pose a question: do you think it would be advantageous to eliminate some of the glitches that make Halo 2 such an awesome game to delve to its depths? For example--the Rocket/Sword glitch which as we all know is an amazing tool to use to explore nooks and crannies in all of the levels to see how high you can go past Banshee ability, etc. While it may seem practical to eliminate it for say, explotive purposes, would it really eliminate any real "cheating?" Personally, it is really just a tool for fans of the game to really explore and appreciate the detail that you guys put into each blade of grass and bit of rubble on top of a building. I know I have spent many an hour taking my "noob" buddies on top of the cranes in Headlong, and I love getting to stand on them, and look down upon the city with the lights off and my home theatre system cranked. It feels so life-like. Don't even get me started on the fun of jumping DOWN from there. At any rate....I also beg the question. Some of these glitches, for example, the mythical flag bounce on Colossus (which takes skill to perfect) are not really as horrible as one might assume. Take a look at the other side of this arguement. If someone knows how to do it....doesn't it show that they have taken the time and effort to study the maps to their advantage? Why penalize their studious efforts and attention to your craftsmanship by "fixing it"? I mean, honestly, anyone can do it if they spend the time to learn how....and trust me, you can walk into any team training room and just ask your teammates or the opposing team (AFTER they soundly defeat you with it), and most everyone will teach you how. It encourages players to exchange information. And by the by, just because you bounce that flag doesn't mean you're going to score. There are numerous tactical steps you could take to advert it, or even intercept the strategy.
At any rate, before I ramble any further, please consider the voice of the people in which "glitches" are really all that harmful. Some of them are--i.e, the Elite dummy glitch which EVERYONE loathes with a passion--(Multi Flag CTF games on Coagulation haven't been the same--however, ARE quite a problem.) I honestly cannot say with any honesty that it takes ANY skill to perform it. Ok, you have to learn how to hit the buttons at the right time, and all that crap, but let's face it, it's an INSTANTANEOUS action with nigh no measures to counter. I really think I speak for all of us HONEST gamers out there (emphasis on the HONEST part)--when I say that the "Dummy" glitch isn't a strategic boon--it's a exploitive nightmare. ----As for the grabbing flags through walls--that one can go either way--personally, I'm neutral on that one.
In short (I know, I know--too late), please before any real action is taken, consider what I've said on behalf of my fellow XBox Livers...and if it isn't too much trouble to post this somehow, somewhere, please do so so that other gamers will get to see another perspective on this issue. Thanks a bunch guys--you're doing a smashing job. If you think I'm just blowing smoke, let me close by saying.....since my account was activated back in December, I have purchased 3 other XBox titles, one of which is the much awaited KOTOR 2. I haven't touched ANY of them yet because my attention is STILL focused on Halo 2. Keep it up. Cheers.
