I would like to see a custom music feature for multiplayer, but not single player. The music they make is just so good.

Thats be so nice to have the option to change the music. Most people spew about how the music is so good, and blah blah blah. Yeah, its good the first 50 times of campaign, but after that Im just playing to kill something. And I like listening to speed metal while killing.

BTW, Martin O'Donnell is good, but hes no John Williams.

agreed, only for Multiplayer, thats if you want it on, and it should be a BACKGROUND thing, not a replace all the noises with music, like some other games have, and ya gotta turn down the music cus ya cant hear nothing but it...

In short, having an option is always a good thing. I'm sure the Halo 2 soundtrack with be great, but being able to put songs of your own choosing in there would still be nice - I wouldn't think a lot of people - if anyone - would bother with editing in their own songs before having played through the game with the original music, though. Also, from what I remember from Halo, the game itself is so immersing that it takes at least one play-through before you really start noticing the music. Further testament to how well-adapted it is, I would assume.

LOL... it's not opera music. But whatever.

I agree that the SP music should be left alone. It's just too good to replace with Limp Biscuit or something like that. And it really fits the story and action very well. (There are several parts of Two Betrayals that give me goosebumps even after all these times through the game, i.e. "Final Run" and the canyon before the 2nd pulse generator right as you get in the banshee.)

Multiplayer would be OK though. I probably wouldn't use it very often, since it helps so much to hear what's going on.

I don't think there's any opera music in Halo.

Edit: Wow! All the time this thread has been up and I'm beaten by one minute!

Halo music =/= opera, it's called "Gregorian Chant". =P
On another note: there is a semi-rock variation on the Halo theme that you can hear in Cartographer after you've activated the Cartographer and you're walking up through the installation, frying Covies.
Also, if you have the soundtrack to Halo, the piece of music i'm referring to is called "Rock Anthem for Saving the World".
Unfortunately, it's extremely short, and is the only musical selection that vaguely resembles rock.

No way that would destroy the game. The music is what make's the game's atmosphere :p

Yes i agree with 'The Wasp'. after you played the game a few times you just want to storm through the game listening to your favorite rock/metal.
So what would be a good idea (i think so anyway) would be that you have to play the game at least once in easy mode THEN it unlockes custom soundtracks, then you get the choice of listening to the game music or kicking covenant ass with your favorite rock/metal band

ABSOLUTELY NOT> The sound is an important part of the story, the music conveys emotions that cannot always be presented through action or other means. bungie want to make sure the correct emotion is conveyed so i dont think they would do custom soundtracks. i mean think of it like this. star wars with out its theme music...mmmm...no thanks

So that's what it is. Gregorian Chant. I always thought it was Gothic. I could never find music like the Halo soundtrack, anywhere. I listen to the Halo soundtrack when I'm stressed, or when I'm studying. I hope they sell Gregorian Chant in stores.
