is the copy protection too intense to either burn a copy or an image? Or should I stick with my plan of buying a second copy? (from the Microsoft store, of course)

Actually, I think if you destroy the 2nd disk within 24 hours its legal. DONT take my word for it tho.

I don't know if it's illegal, but can you make an image and mount in on one and then use the real cd on the other? No clue if that's legal..

I know you can run halo on 2 pcs simultaneously with one copy, heres how.

If you have a legal copy of halo with keycode, install on 2 computers. Start on one (Computer A) and when A reaches the main menu, eject the disc. (The game uses the disc as a key to the game, not to access information) This wont effect A 's gameplay at all. Then, insert the disc into Computer B and start up halo. Now, you have 2 computers with halo on each from 1 copy.

In theory, you should be able to run halo LAN, but ive never tried it.

You might want to check, but i dont think its illegal as long as you are using it on your own computers, not installing it on, say, your friend's computers. Or selling it (duh).
